A Blog Jam September 5, 2012

I’m starting to dig out after being plowed under by an avalanche of unfortunate events this summer and past spring.
I have time to write . . . but not enough time to write everything. As a result, I’m experiencing a bit of a Blog Jam with too many topics swirling about with nowhere to go.
Accumulated debris is cluttering my mind and obscuring my clarity of vision. It’s time to pull the plug and shoot the logs through the chute:
1. Tigger ~ After losing weight at a rapid rate for several months, Tigger held his own this month. From August 4th to September 1st, his weight remained unchanged. He’s also drinking less. Too soon to tell if he’s “out of the woods” but we are cautiously optimistic.
2. Concert at Allegro Music Academy ~ mandolins have a rich and diverse ethnic history, perfect for Russian, Greek, Jewish, and Spanish medleys and melodies. Playing the mandolin is not all about banjos and bluegrass.
3. Paddleboards may look like surfboards, but they’re considered “vessels” (subject to government regulation and intrusion) . . . life vests and a whistle or other sound producing device must be kept on board the board.
Seriously. I’m not kidding.
What next? Helmets?
4. Mom’s last day ~ we took a lunch cruise around Sarasota Bay on the Marina Jack II. Delicious food and friendly service, but I couldn’t help but wonder . . . what happened to the Marina Jack I?
5. Open House at the Island Players ~ during one of our outings with mom this summer, the directors discussed scheduled plays for the upcoming season, including: Postmortem . . . The Dixie Swim Club . . . A Little Murder Never Hurt Anybody . . . Til Beth do Us Part . . . 37 Postcards . . . and Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap, celebrating its 60th (!) Anniversary.
Talk about hitting one out of the park!
You go, girl!
