A Palm Tree State of Mind June 6, 2012

Florida’s edgy landscape boasts tropical spikes and fringe . . .
Sea, sand, sun, and sky coalesce under swaying palms to manifest magic . . .
Royal palms, shifting weight under bay breezes, shade passers-by . . .
Restless fronds, crowning gorgeous vistas, whisper to the wind . . .
Keeping time with each season’s song, palms remain ever vigilant . . .
Bejeweled in illuminated strands of pearls, palms offer holiday cheer . . .
Aah . . . that’s better!

Palm trees are awesome…don’t have many growing here but they do well at the beach area.
In Ocean City MD and at quite a few NJ beaches, mature palms are trucked in each year just for the summer months ~ to encourage that Island Getaway feeling (and to boost sales of Pina Coladas at Trader Vic’s). 😀
That looks wonderful 🙂 My mind has got hung up on the turtle, of course…
That turtle is a shower for people who need to rinse off before heading home.
PAlm trees certainly give an air of paradise. However, the palms in Portugal are being killed off by the red palm weevil. It’s such a shame 😦
Oh, that’s too bad. I’ve never heard of the red palm weevil. Maybe the more resilient palms will continue to thrive and propser.
Love the turtle and the white sand shot, Nancy, though they are all great. The egret is also lovely.
Thanks, Andra. I took the Egret the day we arrived . . . for a 2-week vacation that became a permanent change of address.
OK, Nancy! NOW you’re just bragging! 🙂 Ahhhh….Debra
Bwahaha! One day, I’m going to head out to capture a few UGLY spots . . . if I can find any, that is. 😆
Beautiful light, beautiful surroundings, Nancy!
Thanks, Kate. Nothing like a palm tree to put a smile on my face. 😀
Sigh, what beautiful surroundings, so clean and sunny. 🙂 The photos are awesome, by the way.
Thanks, Marie. I enjoyed going through my photos to find Palms to share. 😀
I was wondering about that turtle – now I know!
There is something about gently swaying palm fronds that tantalizes most of us, conjuring up pictures of beach, sun and sand – and relaxation. Aah – that’s better!
There is, isn’t there? We love the turtle showers . . . with their smiling faces.
Hmmm…your palm trees look better than ours. I think I know why…you have water and beaches. Thanks for sharing pictures of your paradise. It sure is pretty 🙂
I thought you were going to say “the lack of exterior illumination” ~ nothing sets off a palm tree like “jewelry.” 😉
Beautiful, Nancy!
🙂
Thanks, Bob. They pair perfectly with your Pink Flamingo!
Well done!
I miss Palm trees.
Enjoy 😉
