Birds . . . and beach:
Beach . . . and bird:
Have you heard?
“Bird” is the word . . .
Watch out!
The early bird catches the “ear worm” . . .
Aah . . . that’s better!

Birds and people. The birds were disturbed in their natural habitat by the people, hence they are flying away. For me the sand and sea are related, the people and birds are not:)
PS they both share the same space on the beach
I agree ~ “the beach” is where sand, sea, and sky collide. 😎
Oh birds and a beach – what two great subject!
Thanks, Ronnie! They are two of my favorite things in the Sunshine State. 😎
Love the Peter Griffin “Bird” joke… I lost my s**t on that.
Word. 😉
You will not get me to end up with an ear worm, Nancy Hatch. I have to mow the lawn and refuse to have that in my head!
Bwahaha! Ear worms love to get in our head right before we head out to mow the yard. 😆
Living in The Sunshine State is like being on a vacation spot all the time. 🙂 The last photo of the very white bird is awesome.
That’s a white egret. Beautiful birds. We love living here.
I love that episode of Family Guy!
Peter cracks me up . . . so does Stuey. What a precocious child.
a blue heron, a white egret, sand, ocean, what a world we live in and I am NOT going to find out about ear worms! 🙂
You and Amy are wise, Joss. “Bird is the Word” is a horrible ear worm to get stuck in your head. 😀
Much better to admire birds in wide open spaces.
I love the beach and birds! I would be very happy living there.
It’s a happy place to live, Linda. Tomorrow, we’re going on a boat ride around the island on the Island Pearl as part of the Holmes Beach City Fest celebration.
reminds me of my home in florida
Gulf coast or East coast, Terry?
gulf, five minutes from siesta keys
We’re on the Gulf too . . . near Anna Maria. What a slice of paradise up and down the Keys.
We love to visit Siesta Key . . . the Lobster Pot and Heavenly Cupcake and the beach.
Perfect. This is wonderful and funny! 😉
Thanks, E! I love the WP prompts . . . they often endless possibilities to play with photos and words. 😀
I envy anyone who has those birds on their beach! What gorgeous photos, Nancy!
Thanks, Kate. Walking on the beach almost always involves a “meet and greet” with egrets, herons, pelicans, pipers, and the ubiquitous gulls.
Nice bird shots!
Thanks, Pseu! My digital “point and shoot” does a great job capturing mid-range shots. I leave zoom-in and zoom-out shots to others . . . like you!
Great close up on that white one. I think I know it’s name, but won’t guess. I’ve learned coming here on a regular basis I don’t know everything.
White Egret. We can only know SOME of the things . . . SOME of the time. 😉
Actually . . . snowy egret:

I got the egret part, not the snowy!
We have so many different egrets and herons around us that I can’t keep them all straight without the periodic refresher course . . . via Google!
I wish I knew everything. I don’t *sigh*. At such an advanced age, I am just starting to realize how much I don’t know. Like ear worm. Made me think of Mr. Chekhov in “The Wrath of Khan.”
Back to topic – lovely bird pictures, Nancy. Lovely beach, too. I suspect the people are lovely as well. 😉
Some of the people. Some of the time. 😉
Thanks, Sandra.
I watched the video…and so far no ear worm…but lots of chuckles! : ) thanks! Amazing birds in those photos!
Family Guy can be quite giggle-worthy at times. Hope you found some funny movies to watch last night.
We went to Salmon Fishing in Yemen…it was very good and a number of funny moments, as a bonus!
Funny moments are the best . . . they keep me sane.
These writing prompts are fascinating. I have enough trouble getting my posts up when I have complete control over what I’m going to write about…you do rise to the occasion! Great photos…I am an ocean and shore lover and love to watch the behaviors of ocean birds. Sometimes they are quite brazen reminding us that we are on their turf And I may have caught the ear-worm…”papa oooh mow-mow”–(how would you spell those lyrics…) is reverberating in my ears. Fortunately, that’s a happy melody! Debra
Sometimes having a smaller universe of possibilities to choose from unleashes creativity. If it doesn’t . . . I skip the prompt or modify it to suit my needs. 😉
Your spelling looks about right . . . enjoy!
I miss the beach! 3 and a half inches of rain yesterday and dreary all day until right before sunset. I was ready to hop in a vehicle, drive drive drive and jump on the Island Pearl! We have friends that just moved from Englewood to Ocala because of house insurance and now CH is talking Ocala. I stamped my little size 6 and said NO! I wanna live in Venice!! He smiled. We will see how much he likes Ocala in August when we head back down.
Home owner’s insurance is higher nearer the beaches ~ especially for waterfront homes.
Be sure to tell CH that there are fewer sinkholes popping up (down) from Bradenton, south. 😉

Geeeez Nancy sorry! Your birds and beach photo got me all happily befuddled! Your pictures are perfect for the challenge! Excellent!
No worries, mate! I got so caught up in your comment, I forgot that “bird” is the word! 😀
That white bird is new to me.. I wouldn’t like to feel the point of his sharp beak!
I have a friend who is afraid of birds . . . she must have watched Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds” during her formative years. 😯
Birds around here aren’t prone to attack people with sharp beaks, bills, and talons . . . unless they are “asking for it.”
Gorgeous photos Nancy! Great entry!
Thanks, Theresa. I love the birds around here. 😀
Great work for theme 2 subjects my friend ,thumbs up.
Thanks, Jake! Double your pleasure . . . double your FUN! 😀
Well done!
Smile 😉
Thanks, Tok. We have a great many subjects to photograph down here. We even had an eagle on our roof two weeks ago.
