Yesterday, we went to the annual Island Heritage Day Festival on AMI.

We enjoyed strolling the gardens, perusing artifacts in the museum, touring Belle Haven Cottage, viewing artwork on display by local artists, and stomping our feet to the vintage and contemporary bluegrass sounds of State Road 64:

Before we left, we bought several raffle tickets from the AMI Historical Society to support their fundraising efforts aimed at moving a vintage cottage onto the grounds for a Baseball Museum.

This morning, we received a phone call from the Historical Society telling us we’d won Funky City Pier ~ a gorgeous tropical print contributed to the raffle by Robert Johnson . . . one of the first artists we met when we moved here!

Funky City Pier is already hanging on our living room wall . . . we love it and AMI!

Thanks, Robert!  And thanks AMI Island Historical Society for preserving the history of this delightful island paradise.

Aah . . . that’s lucky!
