What Color Is Your Aura? February 6, 2012

We emit electro-magnetic energy and heat.
Some of that energy is emitted as ultra-violet rays, in all colors of the rainbow.
Auras are the visual result of the energy vibrations within and around material objects.
According to auric theory, energy emitted as ultra-violet light relates to our consciousness, emotions, intentions, and spirituality.
Reading people’s auras may give us insights into their mental, emotional, and spiritual state.
Cool!
The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Meditation (p.86-87) includes the following guidelines for interpreting the colors of people’s auras:
Yellow ~ Joyful, playful, blissful
Orange ~ Creative, inspiring, compassionate, powerful
Red ~ Passionate, easily excited, materialistic
Purple/Violet ~ Spiritual, intuitive, psychic abilities
Blue ~ Calm, relaxed, tranquil, attentive, caring
Turquoise ~ Energetic, a natural leader, organized
Green ~ Intelligent, straightforward, a natural healer, close to nature
Pink ~ Protected by pure and radiant love
White ~ Innocence, purity, spirituality
Gray ~ Depressed, pessimistic, negative, repressed anger
Brown ~ Unsettled, anxious, nervous, distracted
Sulfur-colored ~ Discomfort, pain, irritation, festering anger
What color is your aura?
If auras reveal a person’s inner nature, mood, and intention, learning to see and interpret those auras would be a valuable skill:
* Instead of selecting the shortest check-out queue at the store, and possibly ending up with Grumpy Gus, we could choose the cashier with the most joyful aura . . . unless, of course, we’ve had our fill of Pollyannas for the day.
* In restaurants and bars, we could choose to sit at a table surrounded with people exuding positive energy and enthusiasm . . . or select a seat based on the waiter’s inspiring aura.
* When someone cuts us off in traffic (or berates us for no good reason), we could glance at the “cloud” hanging over his/her head (gray, brown, or sulfur colored, no doubt) and send healing rays their way.
Wouldn’t that be great?
We could engage positively with people and watch their auras “lighten up” as the result of our kindness and compassion. What a rush!
And, best of all, if we saw our aura each time we looked at mirror, we’d remember to “take out the trash.” When we forget to dump yesterday’s junk, our inner light fades.
If we remember to let go of stale hurts and grievances, our inner light shines forth in full measure . . . returning our aural complexion to a “rosy glow.”
Aah . . . that’s better!

This is a great reminder to “dump yesterday’s junk”…thank you!
Thanks, Suzi! I followed the instructions for reading auras a few times ~ no luck, thus far. I cannae see a thing. I’m going to try again.
It would be great to be able to steer clear of “Negative Nellies” and gravitate toward “Positive People” as a matter of course ~ and to watch my own aura change based on the thoughts I think.
Wouldn’t it be great if we could read auras…it would prevent us wasting time on negative people.
Plus . . . we could mess with their heads by shooting positive energy their way! 😉
I suppose only others can determine our aura because we probably can’t see our own for whatever positive or negatives there are.
The book gave instructions for reading our aura using a mirror and a white backdrop.
Thus far, I haven’t seen mine. But I am often in tune with whether I’m giving off good vibrations . . . or not. 😯
Some people project their auras better than others. Even if we cannot SEE them, they become apparent pretty quickly.
I agree, Andra. I feel good (and bad) vibes emanating from others. Those with good vibes act like magnets . . . attracting us to them. In contrast, people with bad vibes are like vampires . . . sucking the life out of us. 😉
Hmmm, well I’m not white I guess.
I expect you’re Yellow/Orange/Red . . . or Blue/Green. 😀
Nancy, my aura is generally in the blues and violets. 🙂
My late nephew could see auras. First time he saw it was when he was around three years old and it happened spontaneously. When his dad came into the room, he saw a brown color over him and he was frightened and started to cry. He didn’t know what it was but my sister realized that he was seeing the aura so guided him. His Dad is a negative individual but not an evil person, just negative in outlook and awareness and caused suffering in others and has caused him great personal suffering as well.
When my nephew was around 10, I used to take him to the park, and he would tell me what the color of the aura was in others, and he could see illness. But, when he reached puberty, he lost interest in seeing auras so the ability started to wane.
That’s fascinating, Marie. From what I’ve read, children often see auras . . . losing the ability as they age.
The Wikipedia article linked above (first paragraph) discusses several tests given to auric readers with disappointing results which failed to substantiate claims made by the readers.
Still . . . I’m interested in exploring the topic further. I expect that it would be a useful skill to possess.
Colour-coded humanity 😀 If only life were that simple….I’d love to know what colour my aura is…
What if we could wake up each morning and CHOOSE our aura for the day . . .
Hmm, today I shall be playful. 😉
Love this post. Like you I think we should choose our aura each day. hmmm, maybe we actually can seeing as thoughts manifest as energy.
We probably do get to choose, but we might make better choices if we could SEE visible evidence of the thoughts we think. 🙄
Hmm…
maybe it’s a good thing you can’t see mine through your computer screen, Nancy…
I feel like that might be very embarrassing for me!
Come-on, color!
🙂
Surely, your aura is not B&W . . . I expect it’s bright ORANGE with a tinge of YELLOW.
Thank you, Nancy…
I’d very happily take that!
🙂
Excellent! 😀
I haven’t seen colors of auras, but I often pick up on a sense about people…positive or less than positive….some people give out a very strong energy. I’ve learned to be very very careful about who I spend time with…I seem to “catch” other people’s energy, without realizing that’s happening.
I love your idea of choosing the line with the most joyful checker or sitting in a restaurant near the people who give off positive energy and enthusiasm….that never occurred to me….now that is a great idea!
People who wallow in negativity tend to be fairly easy to spot even in cyber space. I would love to be able to see auras . . . what a great super power or 6th sense that would be.
Wish I could see auras, especially my own. I sometimes forget to “take out the trash.”
It would be great fun to glance into the mirror, see our aura, and brighten it up by “taking out the trash.”
Aah . . . that’s better!
I see a light, but not color, around other people’s heads or shoulders – when I am having a heart to heart with them. The thickness or height indicates the depth of our connection.
I don’t know how else to say this, but I see it when I don’t really look at them. It’s like I’m looking beyond them or beside them, but with a sort of “daydreaming” air.
I’ve not tried to see mine, but psychics tell me it has lots of colors. That feels right – even though there can be days when it may be brown and smells like sulfur! 😀 That’s “garbage day”!
That’s cool, Amy. I would expect your to be alight with colors.
What you said makes sense ~ the “instructions” said to stare at your “third eye” (in the mirror) for a minute or so and then use peripheral vision to see the aura. A white background is best.
I’m going to play around with this a bit. I’d love to see the aura of children at play vs. adults paying taxes. 😉

I have no idea what color my aura is (or if I even have one :)) It’s an interesting topic, though. I’d love to be able to see auras because it could be my secret weapon in avoiding toxic people.
I like the ‘taking out the trash’ phrase. Sometimes mine piles up…
Yes! At parties, we could steer clear of folks with gray, brown, or sulphur circulating around their countenance. If the elevator opens to reveal someone with a dark aura, we can back away instead from the elevator instead of stepping on.
And, as a mother, it would give you new insights into what your kids have been up to. 😉
Beautiful post, Nancy. Only one of the many reasons I gave you the Liebster Blog Award: http://viviankirkfield.wordpress.com/2012/02/07/academy-award-of-the-blogosphere-the-liebster-award/
I definitely believe we project our inner positivity or negativity…and it can be felt by others. 🙂
Thanks, Vivian! I’ll be around shortly.
If we are “tuned in,” we can pick up the vibes others are giving off. At times, it can even protect us from dangerous individuals who lurk about in dark alleys.
never tried, but I like the practical uses for being able to read auras. I wouldn’t know where to start… Nice post, Nancy. 😀
I’m going to start with the intention to see auras, including my own. If the way teaches me the way, I’ll let you all know.
In the meantime, I shall amuse myself with imagining auras on laughing people . . . frowning people . . . happy people . . . unpleasant people . . . and politicians. 😉
Pink!
Tickled pink! 😉
Love the image of taking out yesterday’s trash!
Shine on! 😎
I think many have this ability when they are young but slowly lose it. Too bad it is not the opposite and instead we slowly and surely get better at it as we grow older. It might be a quite different world if that were true.
That’s what I’ve read . . . that young kids see auras and then lose the ability because the skill is not reinforced.
My favorite color is blue but that’s definitely my aura color! I’m probably a turquoise most of the time but I don’t think recently. Time to reset a few things…
I can see you wearing a Turquoise aura. 🙂
If am naturally attracted by greens and yellows do I have a split personality?
I expect that most of us have personalities that change from day to day . . . playful some days . . . more serious the others.
But that raises an interesting question about the aura of a schizophrenic. Perhaps a kaleidoscope of rainbow hues?
I think you are spot on there! It would make an interesting painting…hmmm you’ve given me an idea!
Oh . . . FUN!
Knowing someones aura before engaging them in conversation would certainly prove helpful…
It’s certainly a talent I would like to possess. Imagine if the auras of politicians revealed their deception . . . for all the world to see. 😉
One day perhaps we will be able to. After all, who thought 300 years ago that we’de be flying in big silver things in the sky?
Instead of 3-D glasses, we’ll be able to buy Auralights ~ to capture the auras around us!
Mmmm – that would make life VERY interesting 😀
Wouldn’t it? Last night, we went to an Alumni Reception for the College of William & Mary at the Florida Aquarium. I didn’t know anyone there. Being able to read auras would have been almost as much FUN as watching the sharks swim by overhead.
Ooh . . . I wonder if sharks have auras. 😯
I guess in order to interpret auras, you’d have to be able to see them first. I’ve met people who can, but alas, I cannot (yet).
Same here . . . none yet.
I thought I saw one around Tigger’s head the other day . . . but it was just a dust mote.
I always say that Pollyanna is alive and well and living in Wellington NZ – I wonder what colour my aura is.
Pollyannas are the BEST! Here’s to glasses half full . . . and overflowing with mirth and merriment. 😀
I read a lot about auras a decade or two ago. I really wanted to be able to see them. I still think I will be able to someday . . .
I got sidetracked from my efforts to see them . . . it would be a great skill to have.
If you figure it out, let me know. You can help me. I’ll sacrifice myself and make a trip to Florida.
Ooh . . . that sounds like an EXTRA incentive for me (and you). 😀
You know there are ways to photograph the aura around a body, right? Also aura readers, the good ones, can create pictures for us… but then part of our aura changes with our mood. 🙂
Yes. I have seen photos of auras . . . but it’s the changing part of the aura that I’m most interested in monitoring. If we could see the “dark cloud” hanging over our head, we might remember to set down our wheelbarrow of woe and let the sun shine in. 😎
A rainbow of information. Imagine the headaches when a yellow aura clashed with the pink shirt!
Or when a gray, a sulphur-colored, and a brown land in close proximity to each other . . . stuck in an elevator, trying to go UP with DOWN all around. Bummer!
that elevator will be a descendator
Well said!
