Fill Your Cup December 7, 2011

Posted by nrhatch in Food & Drink.

Sean P. Callahan, currently showing at Stone Soup Gallery, created an original watercolor of fine wine, Key West seafood, and tropical scenery to represent the ambience of the upcoming 2012 Key West Food & Wine Festival.

For more information on festival events and lodging, or to buy a copy of this poster, visit 2012 Key West Food & Wine Festival.

1. Carl D'Agostino - December 7, 2011

Do you remember the stone soup fairy tale?

nrhatch - December 7, 2011

Yes. And there was an excellent Stone Soup Cafe in Asheville NC that featured a dozen different “stone” soups each day . . . all with varied ingredients.

Looks like you’re in for some fun over the festive season, Nancy

nrhatch - December 7, 2011

Not sure we’ll head down to Key West for this festival . . . but we will have lots of FUN things to do over the holidays. The islands really wake up while the “snowbirds” are here. 😀

3. thirdhandart - December 7, 2011

A beautiful watercolor! When we lived in Miami, we drove across all of the bridges to Key West. It must have been a Sunday, or we got there too late, because the Ernest Hemingway House was closed. We walked around the area a little though. It was gorgeous.

nrhatch - December 7, 2011

We plan to do that one of these days . . . drive to Miami and then across all the keys.

Sorry the Hemingway House was closed . . . I want to see his 6 toed cats! 😀

4. Rufus' Food and Spirits Guide - December 7, 2011

Oh that sounds like such a fun event!

nrhatch - December 7, 2011

I expect that it is right up your alley! You and Katherine would enjoy the wining and dining. 😀

5. Andra Watkins - December 7, 2011

Food and wine? Did someone say Food and wine??? 🙂

nrhatch - December 7, 2011

Funny how those two words grab our attention. 😀

You and MTM might enjoy it ~ January 26th – 29th . . . right around the time you were thinking of heading south anyway.

6. Cindy - December 7, 2011

Oh … and food and wine event … now to buy a plane ticket 😉

nrhatch - December 7, 2011

I know! Get a freelance assignment to write about the Food and Wine Festival . . . and get “them” to cover the airfare. 😀

7. Tammy - December 7, 2011

Love the watercolor!

nrhatch - December 8, 2011

Something about a watercolor of the sea, sand, and sky appeals to the barefoot beach bum in me. 😀

8. sweetdaysundertheoaks - December 8, 2011

A very cool watercolor! Sounds very festive! Food and Wine-lovely 🙂

nrhatch - December 8, 2011

If the festival coincides with your visit to the Venice, there’s a “speed boat” (the Key Royale Express) from Fort Myers Beach or Marco Island that lands in Key West in about 3 /12 hours.

9. Booksphotographsandartwork - December 8, 2011

Now that looks like a good time.

nrhatch - December 8, 2011

Surf . . . Sand . . . Sea . . . Sun . . . FUN!
Champagne optional. 😉

10. Team Oyeniyi - December 8, 2011

😆 Surf, Sand, Sea, Sun – that’s me! The champange is definitely a welcome addition!

nrhatch - December 8, 2011

Cocktails on the beach add to the ambiance! 😀

11. spilledinkguy - December 8, 2011

I’m always very impressed by people who work with watercolor so successfully (the lack-o-control I seem to have with it is enough to make me pull the remainder of my thinning hair out)!

nrhatch - December 8, 2011

I only paint in watercolor . . . but I’ve yet to be asked to design and paint a poster for the Key West Food & Wine Festival. 😀

12. jannatwrites - December 8, 2011

I like the order of your posts…the last one was emptying our cup, and now we get to fill it 🙂

nrhatch - December 9, 2011

Exactly . . . pour yourself a favorite beverage to reward yourself for emptying out the stale dregs of non-productive thoughts. 😉

13. nuvofelt - December 9, 2011

I fancy cocktails on the beach! If I do it here it will be a little chilly. Think I’ll give it a miss……

nrhatch - December 9, 2011

It’s lovely here today ~ in the mid-70’s ~ after a spell of chilly days and nights. Perfect for cocktails on the beach at Happy Hour.

Hmm . . . actually, that’s not a bad idea. It is FRIDAY, after all.

14. eof737 - December 12, 2011

Enjoy the tastings! 😉

nrhatch - December 12, 2011

On Friday night, we did just that. Anna Maria hosted a Holiday of Treasures with 50 participating business who joined in the Open House celebration ~ the wine, beer, hot chocolate, and buttered rum flowed while Holiday music filled the air. 😀

15. CMSmith - December 13, 2011

I’ve actually been to Key West, but only once. In some ways it seemed like a different world, there at the southern tip of the continental USA.

nrhatch - December 13, 2011

We’ve been as far south as Marco Island and Naples . . . but haven’t made it to Key West. I think we will in 2012. May take the Key West Express from Ft. Myers to save on driving time.
