Strongly disagree with #2 answer. The Pilgrims happened to be just one tiny congregation of Puritans of whom around 30,000 followed next decade or two. Puritans established a theocracy allowing no religious freedom and Quakers were maliciously persecuted. A Catholic or Jew best not show their faces either. Even dissenters of the Congregational Way within were banished. Mayflower Compact in no way ensures religious freedom. Merely a pact to submit to a government , a self government and in that lies its importance as first constitutional document in North America.
Thanks, Carl. That’s my understanding as well . . . freedom of religion only extended to those who shared the same faith and beliefs. Not true freedom at all.
I was sailing along and then tanked. 50 percent. I’m thankful my grade doesn’t count. Have a great Thanksgiving!
I’m with you ~ glad that my school days are behind me and I’m no longer competing to “get to the head of the class.”
Hope you enjoyed your feast from first bite to last.
I don’t do well with certain trivia tests but want to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanks, Marie! Hope you had a wonderful day. Ours was lovely.
Somehow I got 5 out of 6, which seems pretty good (because I totally guessed on all but one of them)!
🙂
Nice! I like watching Jeopardy while we eat dinner ~ it’s FUN to come up with the right answer . . . especially when it’s just a “good guess.”
I’d like to know how there can be slurping going on at the table when there was absolutely no soup served! Fudge, next year I will make sure to sit somewhere else!
That’s funny, Linda! Maybe some people slurp the cranberry sauce . . . or the gravy! 😆
Speaking of fudge . . . my sister brought some made with carob and oatmeal. Quite tasty.
Yummmy.
Scrumptious!
3/6. For an uitlander, that’s not bad!
Nice job. The quiz rotates, offering up different questions each time you take it. I had to guess at many questions . . . like “How many people are traveling more than 50 miles this Thanksgiving?” IDK . . . a lot? 😀
Love the food in the oven… Delicious… I’ll check out the quiz later. Hope your Thanksgiving was delightful! 🙂
We had a great day with my sister and her family ~ including a short visit to the beach for a walk with my nieces, games, a movie, and lots of delicious food.
We’ve enjoyed some of the leftovers today. 😀
I got exactly one out of six right, and that was a pure guess. I guess I’m not very good at trivia. I should have had the Mayflower Compact, though. I thought it was a trick question.
I probably didn’t learn anything lasting, because I’m sure I’ll promptly forget. 🙂
Sometimes the trivia of life is not worth remembering. 😛
