Those poor turkeys. I always feel sorry for them.

nrhatch - November 22, 2011

Our Thanksgiving is meatless ~ potatoes, sweet potatoes, veggies, stuffing, pie . . . but no turkey.

Gobble Gobble.

2. Lisa Wields Words - November 22, 2011

I needed that giggle. Thanks.

nrhatch - November 22, 2011

Glad you enjoyed, Lisa. Hope you enjoy Thanksgiving in your new place. 😀

3. granny19471947 - November 22, 2011

hehehehe……

nrhatch - November 22, 2011

Good for a giggle! 😛

4. thirdhandart - November 22, 2011

Have you ever eaten Tofurkey? Happy Thanksgiving.

nrhatch - November 22, 2011

Only once at a vegan Thanksgiving we attended. I don’t miss the turkey . . . since I’ve always likes the mashed potatoes and stuffing the best. BONUS: the rest of the meal is EASY to prepare without having to defrost, wash, stuff, and cook a bird.

5. Patricia - November 22, 2011

Who says birds are stupid?

nrhatch - November 22, 2011

Not me! Happy Thanksgiving, Patricia.

6. Tori Nelson - November 22, 2011

Brilliant birds!

nrhatch - November 22, 2011

We had a band of Wild Turkeys near where we lived in Maryland. This cartoon reminds me of that gang of hoodlums.

7. Piglet in Portugal - November 22, 2011

Brilliant!

nrhatch - November 22, 2011

You’re just glad they’re saying “MOO” and not “OINK.” 😉

pix & kardz - November 22, 2011

haha, you made me giggle twice now – once for the post, and now with this comment. 🙂

nrhatch - November 22, 2011

Seeing PiP’s avatar inspired me! 😛

8. Rufus' Food and Spirits Guide - November 22, 2011

Ha, thanks for the laugh.

nrhatch - November 22, 2011

Glad you enjoyed!

Happy Thanksgiving! Gobble. Gobble. MOO!

9. nuvofelt - November 22, 2011

A Thanksgiving which even the turkeys enjoy 😆

nrhatch - November 22, 2011

The hooligans hoodwinked the farmer . . . and that’s no tofurkey.

10. Carl D'Agostino - November 22, 2011

The megabanks and megacorps emit that “through the teeth” sucking sound. We hear it AND see it but seem to be disenfranchised from doing anything about it. I’m sorry if I brought gloom to a funny post but that’s what came to mind.

nrhatch - November 22, 2011

Uh oh, Carl . . . your judgments are clouding your humor. Gobble, Gobble. MOO! 😆

11. souldipper - November 22, 2011

Good one! Turkey brain is now out! 😀

nrhatch - November 22, 2011

We went shopping for all the “fixins” today ~ potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing, fresh green beans, carrots, cranberries, oranges, celery, black olives, and . . . PIE!

souldipper - November 25, 2011

I’m so behind with commenting. So I’ll just carry on reading to see how it all turned out.

nrhatch - November 25, 2011

Wow! The NOW has carried me so FAR from where we were just 3 short days ago ~ shopping, cooking, eating, and lounging around today to rest up for the next “holiday.” 😛

12. pix & kardz - November 22, 2011

so fun! thanks for sharing. 🙂
hope you have a wonderful thanksgiving! in canada we celebrate a similar holiday on the second monday in october.
enjoy the holiday, am sure you have oodles of reasons to be thankful.
cheers & happy pumpkin pie to you!

nrhatch - November 22, 2011

Thanks, Kris. I do, indeed, have many reasons to be thankful.

I remember when my many Canadians friends celebrated their Thanksgiving in October. Giving thanks is a good basis for a celebration, eh?

13. Maggie - November 22, 2011

Cute comic!

nrhatch - November 22, 2011

It’s a Mootiny. 😀

14. Booksphotographsandartwork - November 22, 2011

Oops, I forgot and ate some turkey at our early Thankgsgiving dinner. I don’t even like it that much. I could eat stuffing and pie all day long though. And potatoes!!!!

nrhatch - November 22, 2011

No worries, mate. But I’m with you . . . the stuffing, veggies and potatoes have more appeal than turkey for me. And all 7 who will be with us on Thanksgiving are vegetarians/vegans. Makes the preparations that much easier.

15. jannatwrites - November 23, 2011

Am I the only one who is scared of a blind farmer with a hatchet?

Unfortunately, the turkey I ate over the weekend didn’t fool anyone. I’m with you and several of the others who love stuffing. I tried a recipe for cornbread stuffing that turned out pretty well – *almost* as good as my grandma’s was. Yum!

nrhatch - November 23, 2011

I am scared of almost anyone wielding a hatchet. 😉

Glad your stuffing turned out well. Rufus is sharing lots of “Thanksgiving Recipes” . . . including recipes for cornbread, cornbread stuffing, cranberry raspberry sauce, cranberry quick bread, etc..

16. adeeyoyo - November 23, 2011

I really don’t think I could eat turkey now… just as well we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving here!

nrhatch - November 23, 2011

It’s odd how a celebration focused on giving thanks for the abundance and diversity of the harvest turned into the myopic vision to have “everyone” feast on turkeys.

One more example of people playing “follow the leader” . . . with the blind leading the blind. 😉

17. Tilly Bud - November 23, 2011

This gave me a good laugh. Poor turkeys: so ugly yet so delicious. Enjoy your meatless Thanksgiving (absolutely no irony intended) 🙂

nrhatch - November 23, 2011

Thanks, Tilly. It’ll be delcious. With lots of color and variety.

18. suzicate - November 23, 2011

Those are some smart turkeys!

nrhatch - November 23, 2011

A bit like Yogi Bear . . . they’re smarter than your average bird. Maybe that’s because they are free range turkeys?

19. eof737 - November 23, 2011

Smart Turkeys those are above… had a good chuckle as I championed them on to keep up the deception… 😆 I feel for them too! 😉
Have a Happy Thanksgiving weekend! 🙂

nrhatch - November 23, 2011

As a kid, I enjoyed the turkey & stuffing at Thanksgiving’s feast
More than Christmas’s Yorkshire pudding & rare roast beast

Now, I’m happier to focus on the abundance of the harvest
Sweet potatoes, green beans, stuffing . . . the best of the rest

Happy Thanksgiving!

20. kateshrewsday - November 23, 2011

Incognito is a good way for a turkey to be this time of year 😀 Have a great Thanksgiving…

nrhatch - November 23, 2011

I saw another cartoon with a turkey incognito . . . standing on the sideboard . . . fully feathered . . . with a lampshade over its head . . . while the cook searched high and low for the missing bird in the kitchen.

Gobble. Gobble.

21. Jeanne - November 23, 2011

Love this Nancy!

I found another zebra picture I think you may like

Have a great Thanksgiving!

nrhatch - November 23, 2011

Oh, wow! That ZEBRA is awesome. I would love to pet that Zebra’s stripes.

Thanks, Jeanne. Hope you have a wonderful and warm day tomorrow . . . filled with good food, good friends, and good cheer!

flyinggma - November 24, 2011

I thought you might like it. I thought it was pretty cool. Have a wonderful day with your BFF.

22. Barb - November 24, 2011

Okay, I know this comic is supposed to be funny, but honestly, I’ve wished for one of those pop-up done buttons in most of the stuff I’ve cooked. i can overbake water. And if there was a pop–up button with an alarm, that would even be better because I get busy and forget to even look at the darn button. Why don’t they just make one that’ll eject the food from the oven. Now we’re talking.

nrhatch - November 24, 2011

I’m pretty good about setting the timer . . . because nothing says loving like unburnt food from the oven!

That said, I don’t bake much . . . I prefer cooking on the stove top where I can see what’s what.

23. Team Oyeniyi - November 25, 2011

Now that made me giggle!

nrhatch - November 25, 2011

This is my favorite Thanksgiving cartoon EVER. 😀
