Time Reveals The Truth November 6, 2011

Evangelist knocks
“Would you like to know the truth?’
Of course! Don’t we all?
Winter waves unfurl
Pounding the rocky shoreline
With icy crystals
Wind whipping up waves
Amid Florida daydreams
Holmes Beach for Christmas?
Vacation Homes Search
Condo, Townhouse or Villa?
Who cares . . . if it’s warm!
Impatient to leave
We check the weather report
Smiling at the temps
As E.T.D. nears
We’re too excited to sleep
Wish we were there now
Finally . . . we’re off!
Smiles and soaring spirits
Greet the rising temps
St. Armand’s Circle
Posh people push pampered pups
Carols fill the air
South Beach Ferry glides
through inter-coastal waters
while passengers smile
Walking on Gulf sands
Frees my imagination
Let’s extend our stay!
Two thousand eight ends
With midnight fireworks, and
Dancing on the beach
Waves greet the New Year
Excitement swirls through the air
The future is next!
Square pegs and round holes
Art Shows and Eco Expos
Time reveals the truth
Aah . . . that’s better!

Lovely.
Thanks. Sidey’s theme this weekend, Anticipation, made me do a bit of time traveling. 😀
i’m so glad it did, this is great
Thanks, Sidey!
Was this the story of how you ended up moving to Florida?
Yes . . . the beginning. It all started with a daydream . . . that ended in my dreams coming true.
Very nice.
Thanks, Lisa. I enjoyed your take on the theme this week.
Very nice Beach Girl 🙂
Thanks, Honky Cat! 😀
The title caught my eye right away … I seem to be discovering (or maybe it is accepting) many truths from the past lately. Thanks, this was lovely.
We can’t always see the distant shore . . . yet with anticipation’s wind filling our sails, we soar.
What a transformation: I could do with something similar 😀
At times, life is nothing short of magical. 😎
How beautiful! A daydream acted upon? Imagine! Debra
I asked myself what I would do if I only had a short time to live.
Answer: Move to Florida.
Best move we ever made. 😀
Just fabulous, Nancy 😀
Thanks, Cin. We live forward . . . but with a backward glance we can measure the distance we’ve traveled. 😎
Happy holidays and happy life shine through in your writing, Nancy 😀
Thanks, bluebee! I strive for happy.
Time does reveal everything… Thank you for the beautiful poem. 🙂
Thanks, E! It was fun taking a retrospective glance to see how we got from THERE to HERE. 😀
I really enjoyed this, Nancy. For me, it’s your best yet.
Thanks, Tilly. Happiness peeking through the retrospective glance at fulfilled anticipation. 😀
You are right, life is magical. And blogs like yours remind us of this!
Thanks, JAS. Sometimes clouds obscure the magic from view. When that happens, we must open our eyes a bit wider. 😯
A daydream? Hmmm Then it’s not too late for me to end up at the beach on a farm with a cowboy?!
A beach farm with a cowboy? What about the shelter for abandoned animals . . . or is that AFTER the honeymoon? 😉
Hm. Can you tell me where this farm on a beach with a cowboy is? ☺
Are you farming fish?
Maybe they’ll farm oysters . . . for pearls! 😀
I agree, Nancy…time really is a friend. It bears the truth well! Great poem – even with the pompous people pushing pudgy puppies. Oh no…that’s not what you said. That was what I thought!
Thank god for square pegs that keep folks from thinking there is only round.
Pampered pups ~> pudgie puppies . . . yup!
But . . . some of the pups were tiny teacups
Their saucers? Carriages . . . to keep them up
And untrampled by busy holiday shoppers. 😉
Amazing!
Moving here has exceeded our expectations. 😎
*Sigh*
Sand, sea, a shell………….. my kinda place…………..
I waited “half” my life to live here because I refused to acknowledge what I really wanted . . . to live where it’s warm. I regret that I didn’t make the leap earlier in life.
