Loving the tunes….takes me back! xo

nrhatch - October 31, 2011

Me too. We watched the Addams Family and the Munsters with regularity ~ all Creature Feature.

I wanted to live in an old Victorian house . . . filled with “quirky” relatives. 😉

nrhatch - October 31, 2011

You too, Suzi. Hope your day is full of treats, not tricks.

4. William D'Andrea - October 31, 2011

I remember once reading an interview with the actress Margaret Hamilton, who portrayed the Wicked Witch in the “Wizard of Oz”. She said that for many years after that, whenever Halloween came around, she’d put on the old black dress and pointed hat. Then when the kids came to her door, she’d greet them portraying the Witch.

Could you imagine some 8 year old in a cute costume ringing her bell, and being greeted by the Wicked Witch herself?

“Trick or treat! Trick or Treat! I’ll give you trick or treat! Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!”

Then after that, she’d host a party for all the kids in the neighborhood; and who would have a better Halloween Party than the Wicked Witch herself?

nrhatch - October 31, 2011

Thanks, William. I wish she’d lived in my neighborhood! 😯

It ALWAYS makes me smile. 😯

8. sufilight - October 31, 2011

I loved watching the Addams Family and the Munsters when growing up, they were charming kirky characters. LOL. Happy Halloween!

Hope you’re having a S~P~O~O~K~T~A~C~U~L~A~R Day!

Oh yes, I remember the Munsters and the Adams family, Nancy.
My favourite picture is the pumpkin. If the picture is real, carving out those letters must have taken some real work.

nrhatch - October 31, 2011

It’s definitely beyond anything I’ve ever managed to carve out of a pumpkin.

Happy Hallowe’en, Nancy 😀

nrhatch - October 31, 2011

Hope the ghosts and ghouls had FUN in your neck of the woods . . . B~O~O!

11. Piglet in Portugal - October 31, 2011

I remember the Munsters; it was my favourite TV show!

nrhatch - October 31, 2011

Such a menagerie of characters . . . and Hermann’s LAUGH. 😀

12. thirdhandart - October 31, 2011

I used to watch The Munsters too. Great post! Happy Halloween!

nrhatch - November 1, 2011

Now it’s All Saint’s Day . . . and tomorrow is the Day of the Dead (in Mexico)! Quite a spiritual time of year.

13. bluebee - November 1, 2011

Did you make the Halloween pumpkin, Nancy? It’s brilliant

nrhatch - November 1, 2011

I did not make it . . . as evidenced by it’s brilliance. I’ve always marveled at people’s ability to chip away at pumpkins . . . removing everything that doesn’t look like a jack o’lantern.

14. ElizOF - November 1, 2011

You know, after all is said and done with those horror movies and songs, Monster Mash is still my favorite. It is not as scary as the rest; I’m not a big fan of the genre. 🙂

nrhatch - November 1, 2011

I don’t watch Horror films these days . . . there’s enough horror in real life and once the crypt is opened, it’s impossible for me to erase the images.

15. Tilly Bud - November 1, 2011

The Monster Mash takes me right back to my childhood. My Dad used to sing along with funny faces. Thanks for the happy memory 🙂

nrhatch - November 1, 2011

Glad you enjoyed, Tilly. That song makes me smile too.

Something about the comedy/horror genre makes movies like Young Frankenstein and Rocky Horror Picture Show cult classics.

16. granny1947 - November 1, 2011

I can only see the picture at the top.
What am I missing?????

nrhatch - November 1, 2011

I guess the YouTube clips are blocked in your neck of the woods, Granny. I included four ~ the Monster Mash, The Addams Family, the Munsters, and Werewolves in London.

17. Tokeloshe - November 1, 2011

Well done 😉
Happy Halloween!

nrhatch - November 1, 2011

Thanks, Tok!
