Video Killed The Radio Star September 8, 2011

In the last couple of days, I’ve been reminded that a picture tells a thousand words . . . and videos crank up the volume still further:

Christine (Random Thoughts From MidLife) filmed a rattlesnake being removed from the premises at a Hilton Head resort.

The 5-foot long snake had stationed itself in the bushes along the pathway to the beach . . . inches away from beachgoers bare feet:

Martin (Thoughts From Finchley) shared a clever and amusing video today and I will not say more so as not to defeat its surprise element:

Forget the Weekly Photo Challenge . . . there’s a war out there!

What’s even better than videos for children and their lively imaginations . . . picture books!

Spirit Just Smiles September 8, 2011

The roads are many
The destination is one
Spirit lights the way

We search for the truth
Hastening along our path
To learn who we are

Obstacles abound
Opportunities for growth
Spirit won’t falter

We are here to learn
It won’t always be pleasant
Just enlightening

Spirit perseveres
And starts all over again
Each time we fall short

Watch that monkey mind
Racing, racing, all the time
Sit still and just be

The inner critic
Passes judgment too quickly
Learn to ignore it

Accept the “what is”
Even amid pain and tears
Smiles release joy

The thinking brain frets
No snub or slight it forgets
Spirit just smiles

Aah . . . that’s better!
