There are several stamps memorializing the museum. You may care to add them to this post. They are easy to copy, size and fit in.
Thanks, Carl. This promotion is offering FREE tickets to museums all around the country . . .
Smithsonian museums in Washington, DC are free every day of the year, including Museum Day. 😀
The ones in DC are awesome
We found out about the event while at The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art yesterday.
We went to tour Ca d’Zan and the Circus Museums and found that the complex is unveiling a new 25,000 exhibit on 9/24 . . . in celebration of Museum Day.
Very interesting! Good blog!
Let me know what you think of mine . . .

Keep on posting!
Your Woody Allen post is quite thought provoking! 😀
This is great. I wouldn’t pick the Smithsonians though since they are free. Wonder if they cover hotel costs…
I only checked the participating museums in Florida but there were dozens ~ art museums, science museums, history museums, aquariums, etc.
The Smithsonian really “signed ’em up” for us!
I checked the small print for you: Airfare and hotel not included. 😛
What a brilliant idea! Unfortunately, there are only 4 museums in San Diego participating and some of them are not even “real” museums. What a shame, but not surprising for a city who does little to encourage cultural curiosity…
Tampa, St. Pete, and Sarasota all have a few participating . . . but they aren’t all “real museums” ~ they include historical re-enactments, aquariums, and hands on science museums.
We’ve got something similar coming up – a London open-door event – otherwise I would be rather too envious for my own good, Nancy.
You would love the Ringling Museum, Kate ~ art, history, and circus memorabilia on 37 acres of landscaped loveliness, including a rose garden and a secret garden.
I look forward to hearing more about the London open-door event. I hope that you enjoy traipsing about. 😀
