A Marvelous Moondance August 12, 2011

Life flows from horizon to horizon, rarely revealing the time remaining.  Are we nearing the end of our journey . . . or do we have miles to go before we sleep?  Left in the dark, we embrace that truth, and begin to dance.

Life is uncertain
Death needs no invitation
Don’t postpone your dreams

We each have a niche
that we alone can access
. . . don’t settle for less

Paint, dance, write, sing, soar
Reveal your essence and core
Let the world know you

Let your spirit fly
without fear ~ a marvelous
moondance in the wings

Today’s featured Artist, Barbara Hines, is an environmentalist known for her whimsical heart-felt depictions of Anna Maria Island.

Her paintings reflect her sense of humor, her love of nature, and her respect for creatures, great and small.

On with the dance . . .

Sun… or moondance, enjoy each day to the fullest. Love Anais Nin quote, Nancy.

Have a FAB Friday, Denise. So glad that you’re back on your feet again. 🙂

Katherine loves this song!

nrhatch - August 12, 2011

And it’s almost a FULL moon!
And it’s Friday!

After dinner, mix up some FAB concoction, put on some Van Morrison, and enjoy this marvelous night for a moondance.

3. SuziCate - August 12, 2011

Oh yes, dance under the stars, you never know the trees might just dance with you…enjoy every moment!

nrhatch - August 12, 2011

There are times when the moon and starlight hit the trees just right and they dance along with me. 😀

4. andalibmarks - August 12, 2011

5. Lisa (Woman Wielding Words) - August 12, 2011

I’ve always loved that song. I want to dance in the moon tonight!

nrhatch - August 12, 2011

And it’s almost a full moon . . . perfect for weaving some magic.

Lisa (Woman Wielding Words) - August 12, 2011

Tomorrow night is the final bonfire for the theater, and a full moon. Music, magic, and dance will be in the air.

nrhatch - August 12, 2011

Ooh . . . that sounds awesome!
Absorb the magic into every fiber of your being.

Aah . . . that’s better.

6. Vix @ LittleMissEverything - August 12, 2011

That song is stuck in my head now 🙂

nrhatch - August 12, 2011

Better this song than “the wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, round and round.” 😉

8. Pocket Perspectives - August 12, 2011

ohhhhh…..thank you…such a wonderful post and reminder…it inspired me to add my own dance… a “fairy dance” … to my own spot….and so, full moon, meteor showers…a perfect time to let our “spirits fly without fear”…”a marvelous moondance” indeed…. : )

nrhatch - August 12, 2011

Awesome! I’ll keep my eyes open for meteors while I dance! Can’t wait to check out your fairy dance. 😀

9. SidevieW - August 12, 2011

dance while you can, tomorrow could bring anything

nrhatch - August 12, 2011

Exactly! Tomorrow may be too late . . . LIVE today.

10. souldipper - August 12, 2011

Van came to mind the minute I saw your title, Nancy. I sang with him through many road trips around my Province during my business days. Sometimes I wheel danced. Sometimes I harmonized so creatively that I was certain he needed me as back-up! 😀

nrhatch - August 12, 2011

Love his jazzy bluesy style. Great for “wheel dancing” and harmonizing. 😎

11. Rosa - August 12, 2011

And all the niiiights magic seems to whisper and hush…
I love Van Morrison!!

nrhatch - August 12, 2011

He rocks! Perfect for a moonlit dance under the stars. 😀

12. kateshrewsday - August 12, 2011

Sieze the day….I can never hear it too often….

nrhatch - August 12, 2011

Just in time for the weekend, eh? We are here and the time is now . . . what else is there?

13. Nancy Curteman - August 12, 2011

We all have to remember that” later is now.”

nrhatch - August 13, 2011

I *blinked* and now my nieces and nephews are starting to head off to college. Just yesterday they were playing in the sandbox and having tea parties.

14. hugmamma - August 13, 2011

i like to dance…in mind and spirit and body…every chance i get. am living every moment…as though it were…my first. 🙂

nrhatch - August 13, 2011

When we’re living fully from the core of our being, joy spills forth . . . unconfined.

15. Tilly Bud - August 13, 2011

‘Don’t postpone your dreams’ is some of the best advice I’ve ever read.

nrhatch - August 13, 2011

What I’ve found ~ if we start taking active steps toward a dream, either our excitement builds or . . . we lose interest entirely.

In the latter case, I expect it’s because we “adopted” someone else’s dream for us with no true enthusiasm for it. 😉

16. Naomi - August 13, 2011

Absolutely, let’s dance! Love the images 😀

nrhatch - August 13, 2011

Last night, I went out to see if I could dance under the Perseids . . . but the full moon lit the night sky so much that few stars were visible.

17. Tammy - August 14, 2011

One of my all time favorite tunes! I shall be singing it all day tomorrow now.

nrhatch - August 14, 2011

Your comment made me glad that singing to ourselves is considered “fair use” . . . not subject to royalty payments to the artist.

I would be broke if I had to pay the songwriters for all the songs I’ve sung! 😀

18. earlybird - August 14, 2011

Pinned above my computer:
‘Work like you don’t need money.
Love like you’ve never been hurt.
Dance like no one’s watching.

Don’t be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin.’

I don’t remember where I copied it from but I try to bear it in mind.

nrhatch - August 14, 2011

I love every word of that ~ if we aren’t careful, our fears increase the older we get . . . and we stop living life to the fullest.

Thanks, EB.

19. eof737 - August 17, 2011

I love those dancing and singing birds… how delightful and funny. TY for sharing Barbara’s work… time, indeed , is fleeting. 🙂

nrhatch - August 17, 2011

Barbara’s work always puts a smile on my face. Dance on!
