Our worst enemy
doesn’t believe in killing instantly
causing its victims no pain. Oh, no, our
enemy insists on slowly annihilating
all who cross its path in a
technique
that is
torture
for
us.

relentlessly inflicts pain
slowly, ever so slowly, as layer
by layer, it destroys
all opposition
in its path
until
only
