170px-alice_par_john_tenniel_30If we conceive it . . .

And believe it . . .

We can achieve it . . .

Attitude, not aptitude, determines altitude.

I believe I can . . .

I believe I can . . .

I do believe I can . . .

Quote:  The journey between what you once were and who you are now becoming is where the dance of life really takes place. ~ Barbara DeAngelis

I believe you might be right 🙂

nrhatch - July 11, 2011

I believe I can fly!
I believe I can touch the sky!

Here’s to soaring on the wings of inspiration! 😀

2. misswhiplash - July 11, 2011

I KNOW I can

nrhatch - July 11, 2011

Ooh . . . even better! Thanks, misswhiplash. 😀

Believing in yourself is step one…then just keep walking!

nrhatch - July 11, 2011

Good point . . . keep on pedaling!
Or paddling.

Or treading water. 😛

You always provide a great counter-point to my innate negativity. I appreciate it!

nrhatch - July 11, 2011

Awesome! 😎

I think children are the best believers in what they can do… if they’re allowed to be children…fearless little humans that they are. We grownups could learn a thing or two… 🙂

You’re right. They aren’t programmed to look for all the reasons why something isn’t possible . . . instead they are focused on figuring out how to make their dreams come true.

I think I can. I think I can.

Then adults splash cold water on their dreams by saying, Be realistic.

“It’s kind of fun to do the impossible.” ~ Walt Disney (1901 – 1966)

Here’s the quote I was looking for:

If we limit our choices only to what seems possible or reasonable, we disconnect ourselves from what we truly want; all that’s left is compromise. ~ Robert Fritz

Great quote!

I have added the video to my playlist, thank you for sharing

nrhatch - July 11, 2011

Yay! Watching this video always makes me feel lighter than air.

I would like to believe that I could become a brain surgeon but that really is not going to happen and not just because I say it isn’t. Some things however have happened because I finally was smart enough to persist in trying. I don’t believe all things are possible for all people.

You’re right. If I wake up tomorrow morning and say with conviction, “I’m 21 again!” . . . that belief, standing alone, is not going to make me younger.

But if I believe that I can “turn back the hands of time” with diet and exercise . . . I may FEEL younger.

I took swimming lessons three times, still can’t swim! After nearly drowning twice I would rather just look at the water and stay out of it. 🙂 Looking at it is very very good.

nrhatch - July 12, 2011

And that’s the key . . . you would “rather just look.,” You don’t have a heart-felt desire to learn to swim.

Morris Goodman believed he would walk and breathe again despite paralysis and a missing diaphragm. He ignored the doctors and used creative visualization from his hospital bed to learn to breathe without a respirator and then to walk on his own.

If you really want to you can hear me say
only if you want to will you find a way.
If you really want to you can seize the day,
only if you want to will you fly away

I love the movie “Happy Feet”…it’s so cute and has a great lesson to it! 🙂
I love this quote, too!

nrhatch - July 12, 2011

I always root for the underdog, or the under penguin ~ the one individual in the crowd who challenges societal expectations and says, “It’s my life. I don’t need a permission slip to live it!”

I can and I WILL!

nrhatch - July 12, 2011

You go, girl! 😎

11. eof737 - July 17, 2011

I believe I can… and I will. 🙂

nrhatch - July 17, 2011

Do it! 😀

Again, I’m catching up on blog comments after another long 4 day yoga retreat in Boston… I got back Thursday night to over a thousand emails. Will begin a marathon commenting effort shortly! TY! 🙂

nrhatch - July 17, 2011

I can’t even imagine wading through 1000 e-mails. Ack.

Don’t negate the benefits of your 4-day retreat by stressing about reading and commenting on all the posts you missed here, there, and everywhere.

Just let it go. Aah . . . that’s better. 😀
