To paraphrase a parable:

The paradox of paradise
Involves parallel paradigms

Our paranoia of the paranormal
And our paraphernalia paralyze us

The paramount paragon?
The paradox of paradise?

Our parasitic life
Parading with parasols

To restate a simple truth:

The unexpected state of bliss
Involves similar patterns

Our fear of the supernatural
And our attachments blind us

The zenith of perfection?
The unlikely truth of paradise?

Our dependent life
Right here and now
Parading with parasols

Heaven is a place on Earth

Wow – that’s a tongue twister of a blog. Love the plethora of p words 🙂 Nice illustrative photos too!

nrhatch - June 10, 2011

Thanks, I enjoyed playing with the “para” words. 😀

2. Cindy - June 10, 2011

Quite a tongue twister, Nancy!

nrhatch - June 10, 2011

I started this paradoxical paradigm parable before moving to paradise. Our paranoia of the paranormal is my favorite twisting bit.

Beaucoup P’s! Heaven is a place on Earth….yes and a great song too! Lovely and artful parasols… 🙂

nrhatch - June 10, 2011

I included the song by Belinda Carlisle and then took it out since it seemed to detract from rather than add to this parable about the paradox of paradise. 😉

A tongue twister indeed :

nrhatch - June 10, 2011

Hence the paraphrased version . . . for those paralyzed by the thought of getting their tongue twisted into a corkscrew. 😀

My tongued was so tied, I was afraid I was so impaired I wouldn’t be able to type a comment, but then I read your paraphrase, oh relief! And yes it is a place here on earth, not all eyes see or experience it, wonderful for those who do!

nrhatch - June 10, 2011

Thanks, Suzi. That’s exactly why I tossed in a paraphrased parable after sharing the paradox.

When we are awake and aware, we see the golden parachute opening before us . . . drifting through the eternal NOW.

6. kateshrewsday - June 10, 2011

That’s really clever, Nancy. True, too.

nrhatch - June 10, 2011

Thanks, Kate! Here’s to parading with parasols as the golden parachute drifts through the eternal NOW.

7. adeeyoyo - June 10, 2011

Very clever use of the p-words, Nancy. Well done! 😀

nrhatch - June 10, 2011

Thanks, Adee. I had quite a bit of FUN with this one. It didn’t end as it started . . . but what does? A paradigm shift occured in the parable when I added the line “parading with parasols” and chose not to paraphrase it. 😎

Dear Time Out Box:
Well I have to comment on this one. If I didn’t know any better, I would think that you were reading my book which is on line: Portals of Paradox. That too can involve the jumble of words known as alliteration, but I won’t ‘accuse’ you of stealing my idea. In any case the idea was copyrite in 2000 in a self-published version. I use the (what I refer to as illiteration) for a specific purpose, to illustrate when the mind of the protagonist, Penny Pritchard, is indeed ‘up so high’ as to be involved in the highest ideas/ideals of the metaphysical. This is equated and often confused, of course with madness, as with the madness of the greats, including Socrates, who certainly had among other geniuses, the gift of divine madness. Anyway, if you wish to read further to confirm my challenge of whether or not you have ‘stolen’ my idea, check the book out on line. Just google ‘Portals of Paradox’ (see what I mean) You might find more kernels of paradox for another post. Cheers!

nrhatch - June 10, 2011

I’m delighted to hear that you aren’t accusing me of stealing “your idea” since I haven’t read any portion of Portals of Paradox.

One mind? One muse? 😉

Loreen Lee - June 10, 2011

Dear Time Out Box:
Well it seems that we have both been ‘crazy’ enough to be part of the parade of the parasol that portends the perception of the paradox of paradise!!!!

nrhatch - June 10, 2011

Perhaps. 😎

nrhatch - June 10, 2011

Thanks for the clarification, LL. I’ve deleted the end of this thread since it seemed like a “loose end.”

9. Tilly Bud - June 10, 2011

Sounds like someone’s having fun 🙂

nrhatch - June 10, 2011

‘Twas fun, indeed! I may try something similar for Sidey’s Weekend Theme. 😀

p p p p

wordless in the face of the p’s

i suppose i’d better go off and mind my q’s while i still have a few

nrhatch - June 10, 2011

Ooh, maybe Q words should be next . . . that might be challenging, or amusing, or both. 😉

11. eof737 - June 11, 2011

I love those pretty parasols! 🙂

nrhatch - June 11, 2011

During law school, I had a parasol that I hung upside down over the bare bulb in the middle of the bedroom ceiling to diffuse the harsh, stark light. An “affordable” solution. 😎
