In Stillness Waiting June 2, 2011

So different from
the rushing stream, the pond lies
in stillness waiting
My pebble lands hard
On the pond’s silent surface
Ripples lap the shore
The seconds tick by,
one by one: as the sand in
the hour-glass flows
This moment won’t last
Make a memory, here, now
Change is on the way
* * *
Trees shedding dry leaves
Spinning round in the light breeze
Drifting down to earth
Confusion swirling
Hazy days and crazy nights
They fade as we watch
We wonder and wait
As worried thoughts circulate
Answers come slowly
Hope offers solace
A brief respite from despair
How will it all end?
