Signs of Intelligent SPAM in the Universe April 7, 2011

I received three Signs of Intelligent Spam in the Universe this week.   I deleted one, by mistake.  That leaves two to share with you:

(1) How many legs does a dog have if you call the tail a leg?

(Answer below.)

(2) It is the eye of other people that ruin us.  If they were blind, we would want neither fine clothes, fine houses or fine furniture.

Quote:  We don’t see things as they are, we see things as we are. ~ Anais Nin

No rules.  Just write!

Have you figured out the answer to the riddle?  And, do you agree that it is  the eyes of others that make us status conscious?

Is there a way around that trap?

* * * * *

Answer:  Four. Calling a tail a leg doesn’t make it a leg.

Spam, spam, everywhere is spam…♪♫♪♫

nrhatch - April 7, 2011

sounds like Monty Python is in the house. 😀

2. Carol Ann Hoel - April 7, 2011

I’m glad to hear that the answer to the first question was four.

There is only one way around the trap of caring too much about what others think. Stop it! 😉

Blessings to you, Nancy…

nrhatch - April 7, 2011

I agree, Carol Ann. When we use an internal compass, we care more about function than form.

3. adeeyoyo - April 7, 2011

It’s always nice to blame others. We, ourselves, can do no wrong! 😆

nrhatch - April 7, 2011

Exactly. We are poyfickt! 😉

4. linda - April 7, 2011

I don’t think I completely agree with the eye of other people thing. I do know people who live like that and it’s a shame. When I see something of beauty such as a great house or lot of land or nice clothes I don’t want it because of what others will think of it I admire it for it’s beauty.

nrhatch - April 7, 2011

If everyone I encountered was blind, I would wear pj’s all the time. 😀

linda - April 8, 2011

Ha that is so funny.

nrhatch - April 8, 2011

And comfy! 😀

5. Cindy - April 7, 2011

You get such nice spam #jealous

nrhatch - April 7, 2011

For every piece of spam I keep to share, I toss 99 pieces back into the cyber sea. 😉

6. Sandra Bell Kirchman - April 8, 2011

Okay, now you’ve got me singing this ridiculous little jingle in my mind…sung to the tune of “By the Sea.”

Cyber sea, cyber sea,
Cyber beautiful sea
Don’t you see, without me,
You have no place to be

Sailing…we’ll go sailing
No fear of failing
We’re as happy as can be
In the beautiful, wonderful, happyful Cyyyyyy…berrrr Seaaaaa

Honestly, Nancy, you should watch what kind of memorable phrases you throw out there. We’re just lucky this wasn’t any longer. 😛

nrhatch - April 8, 2011

What a delightful ditty, Sandra! Thanks. 😀

7. eof737 - April 8, 2011

You got those for real? Sheesh! I get all the auto-generated jumbled up alphabets with links to unmentionable virus baiting sites.
At least you can share the humor. I hit permanently delete and swoosh, they’re gone! 🙂
Eliz

nrhatch - April 8, 2011

Oh, I get those too. And being on a delete and swoosh kick is how I deleted the third piece of Spam that I wanted to share.

Oh, well, if you love something, you must set it free . . . 😀

8. Debra - April 8, 2011

I do not receive interesting spam either!! ‘oh woe is me’…wait that is my own personal EGO speaking….hehe

The dog with a tail …hmmm…I would have to say just because someone’s tells (tails) me that it is not a leg doe not mean it is a leg either. I would have to decide what is the function of a leg….and does the ‘tail-leg’ meet that function. etc…

So I guess for me…if a person(s) tells me something, I hold it for further analysis. Unless it is something I can agree on readily and even then what is ‘real’?…

As you can see I am studying (beginning ) Emptiness and Wisdom. Should be a great journey…hehehe 🙂

Thanks Nancy…great post with many ways to reflect. :):)

nrhatch - April 8, 2011

Wow! Cool, Debra. That is so, like, Zen of you to realize that the tail might be a leg after all. That just blows my mind.

Emptiness and Wisdom, indeed. Happy reflecting! 😎

9. Alannah Murphy - April 8, 2011

I’d like eggs, sausage and SPAM, or sausage, bacon and SPAM, or bacon, eggs and SPAM 😉

Dang! I got the dog bit wrong…well I was never good at maths 😉

nrhatch - April 8, 2011

Spam! It’s what’s for dinner. And breakfast. And lunch. 😉

10. kateshrewsday - April 8, 2011

I never considered there might be intelligent spam out there…eyes too tight shut….thanks Nancy. These are great.

nrhatch - April 8, 2011

I give them a quick glance before pressing delete. Most get deleted.
