Light Illuminates & Enlightens April 3, 2011

Our spirits crave enlightenment
As we search all our lives for the light
And though the light is ever present
Sometimes day still seems like night

The light of life surrounds us
In each petal of a rose
From mountaintop to shining sea
It’s as close as the tip of your nose

Silence the mind, just be ~ focus on your breath
It bubbles with energy, and overflows with bliss

The light of life illuminates
Each grain of sand on the beach
In the stillness, and the silence
It’s always within our reach

Celebrate each moment
Live each day as your last
Focus on the present
And let go of the past

Silence the mind, just be ~ focus on your breath
It bubbles with energy, and overflows with bliss

Don’t dwell on past actions
And you will find the light
Live in the present moment
And the day won’t seem like night

No rules.  Just write!

I seem to be learning that the light of life has nothing to do with light bulbs, candles, sun light or even a lantern or matches.

nrhatch - April 3, 2011

Watch out! Your inner wisdom is illuminating us all. 😀

2. adeeyoyo - April 3, 2011

I agree, Nancy. It is hard sometimes to let go of the stress and just trust that all will be good, but I am learning and hope it will become second nature. Thank you for this post!

The last link ~ Enjoy More Meditation ~ is a terrific resource to videos about the benefits of meditation and mindful observation.

Once we control our monkey minds and silence the constant chatter . . . we reduce our stress in large measure.

Beautiful poem. I like your art, too. I’m signing up.

nrhatch - April 3, 2011

Awesome!

Spirit Lights The Way (SLTW) is a rather eclectic site ~ focused on maximizing happiness and inner peace, becoming more mindful of the choices we make, and honoring our inner wisdom.

It’s about FREEING ourselves from the illusions that hold us back.

A difficult thing to do, but worth striving for.

nrhatch - April 3, 2011

Like everything in life, mindfulness and meditation gets easier with practice. 🙂

Very well said.

Don’t dwell on past actions And you will find the light. Live in the present moment and the day won’t seem like night. I love those words, they reach the depth of our lives, and have so much truth. Thanks for sharing. I like the colorful rooster too !

nrhatch - April 3, 2011

Thanks, Penny.

The more I live in the present moment, the easier I flow through life and the more often I end up where I need to be WHEN I need to be there.

I love that Rooster too ~ we made his acquaintance at an Art Show in Sarasota. 😀

Light is a constant – isn’t it funny how we can interpret “I don’t see light” as meaning “There is no light”? Nice message here, thank you.

It is better to light a candle, than to stumble in the dark. 🙂

Very wise, Nancy.

The wisdom of the ages, surfacing again and again. 😎

I love coming here, especially when I’m tired or heartsore. It’s like walking into a grotto blessed with Spirit. When I was a kid, I had this thing about a Blue Grotto. My folks took me to a restaurant that was called the Blue Grotto and it was close but it wasn’t it.

SLTW is close (roosters and all lol). Thanks, Nancy.

Btw, I visited Cottage Wytch’s site. There is a very peaceful feeling about that as well. I’ll have to subscribe. Spirit comes in so many forms.

nrhatch - April 4, 2011

Thank you, Sandra. I love that you feel that way when visiting SLTW. 😀

13. flyinggma - April 4, 2011

Love the post today. We both ended up with the same sort of post for today. Kindred spirits….

nrhatch - April 4, 2011

Thanks, Jeanne. Kindred spirits, indeed. 😀

14. SuziCate - April 4, 2011

A lovely way to live…I’m trying. Some days I’m more in the flow than others…still working on quieting the mind, seems to be a constant chatter box at times!

nrhatch - April 4, 2011

Suzi ~ You might want to check out the “Enjoy More Meditation” link. Also on my Blog Roll as “Happiness ~ Mindful Meditation.”

Some wonderful videos about practicing the ART of meditation, to calm the monkey mind that is chattering, chattering all the time.

15. oldancestor - April 4, 2011

Thanks for the periodic reminders. I think I’m less grumpy since I started regularly visiting SLTW

nrhatch - April 4, 2011

Awesome! Your posts cheer me up when the “real world” stops being funny. 😀

16. Tokeloshe - April 5, 2011

Hope you’re enjoying your craft room now that spring cleaning is done.
