Thanks, Eliz!

Your blog, Mirth and Motivation, is a shining star in the blogosphere.

Seven Facts About Me:

1.  When I am writing, there is nothing I’d rather be doing.

2.  I try to write when I have something to say . . . not just because I want to say something.

3.  Blogging adds dimension to my life ~ developing connections with writers and readers around the globe has opened my eyes, my mind, and my heart.

4.  I am not a Buddhist, but Buddhist teachings encourage me to explore,  examine, experiment, and experience the wisdom within.

5.  I woke up this morning with a mantra ringing through my head . . . there is more work to be done.

6.  I believe our purpose is to discover our purpose and pursue it with passion.  If we are growing in happiness . . . we are getting warmer.

7.  I value freedom and autonomy, shared laughter, inner peace, and my constantly replenished sense of wonder about the world and its mysteries.

No rules.  Just write!

Passing this award on to 15 bloggers, per The Rules, would be hard.

Not gonna do it.  Wouldn’t be prudent.

We need not compare ourselves to others in order to be the BEST we can be.

I award the Versatile Blogger Award  to those bloggers who strive to share the BEST parts of themselves with the world, through humor, wisdom, compassion, inspiration, and words of encouragement.  Write on!

Don’t look at me.
YOU know whether YOU qualify.

Look deep, the answer lies within.

To accept the award . . . write a short post about ways you share the best parts of yourself with the world.

Or make up your own rules . . . like I did.

READERS:  If you share the BEST parts of yourself with the world (through humor, wisdom, compassion, inspiration, and words of encouragement), you deserve a gold star too!

Quote:  “No one has ever become poor by giving.” ~ Anne Frank

5. Loreen Lee - March 22, 2011

Dear Time Out Box: I am too busy writing and studying how to be the best me possible to have a blog. I am a known leach on other blogs in order to propagate the views of disrespectful and contradictory philosophers. I do want to share the following critique of my book:

This book was written by a crazy woman about a crazy woman who gradually goes crazy trying to figure out if she is crazy or not. If you read this the authors are not responsible for the mental health of the reader. Any semblance to persons crazy or not is purely fictitious and coincidental. The reader may also become fictitious during the course of the reading of the book or may have already been partly or somewhat fictitious prior to the reading of the book. Also the reading of this disclaimer about the reader being fictions prior to or during the reading of it may produce some form of insanity, we are not responsible for that either. Na na na!

My response: That’s great. You’re ‘getting’ the irony, the tone of the book. You’re the first one. I so laughed when I read your disclaimer. If the book works this way for you, perhaps I can look forward to a similar reaction by others. I laughed as I wrote it. But so many people who have read it see only the pain. You understand my irony. Thank you.

Love his sense of humor, especially the first line:

This book was written by a crazy woman about a crazy woman who gradually goes crazy trying to figure out if she is crazy or not.

As Buffett (Jimmy, not Warren) would say: If we weren’t all crazy we would go insane.

Thanks for sharing, LL. Glad you’re getting some pleasing reviews.

Loreen Lee - March 23, 2011

Dear Time Out Box

I added a couple more comments on ‘Does your schedule own you’. One of them is on the possible source of the ‘blarney’ in the humorous comment that you enjoyed so much.

6. clarbojahn - March 22, 2011

I must be going crazy. I don’t understand the crazy comments above.
Congrats for the award. You are indeed versatile.
I am still looking for my niche. I think it’s supposed to be parents and kindergarten teachers as those are who would like my children’s book but I don’t want the box.

nrhatch - March 22, 2011

Ha! You’re not crazy. 😉

LL just wanted me to know about the favorable critique she received on her WIP.

And, thanks. When/If I have a book to sell, I may start another blog. In the meantime, SLTW allows me the latitude to write about whatever sparks my interest.

7. barb19 - March 22, 2011

Congrats – you deserve the award!

nrhatch - March 22, 2011

Thanks, Barb. Most of the blogs I read on a regular basis inspire me with versatility.

It’s amazing how a mere 26 letters can be combined in so many interesting ways. 🙂

8. brownpaperbaggirl - March 23, 2011

Love your answers! Congrats on the award 🙂

nrhatch - March 23, 2011

Thanks, bpbg. It’s wonderful when writing resonates with others.

9. jannatwrites - March 23, 2011

Congrats on the award. I enjoyed reading the seven facts you shared – I like #6 especially.

nrhatch - March 23, 2011

Our SPS (Spiritual Positioning System) is like that child-hood game we played:

You’re getting warmer . . . warmer . . . warmer . . . colder . . . colder . . . oh, wow . . . you’re freezing.

If you’re enjoying yourself, you’re getting warmer. If you’re not enjoying yourself, you need to make a course correction.

If you’re interested:

You’re Getting Warmer . . .

Your #’s 1-3 definitely apply to me. When I get started on a tpic, I am completely absorbed in communicating what I’m thinking. But, I almost never sit down to write something just to be able to say I wrote something. At the moment, I write for me and just have to hope that what I write has resonance with at least a small portion of the blogosphere. So far, so good!

I enjoy your posts . . . even if I don’t always agree 100% with your emphasis.

For example, yestereday’s post about FB and Social Networking: I want to see “them” more than I want them to see me.

I’ve asked for an internet invisibility cloak for my birthday. 😀

12. granny1947 - March 23, 2011

Lovely facts to know about you.
Are you still picturing the lottery???

nrhatch - March 23, 2011

Yes! For you and for Tilly Bud ~ you both seem intent on winning this week. I hope if you win, it doesn’t ruin you. 😉

13. flyinggma - March 23, 2011

Congrats! Love to read and learn more about you. Love reading the post yesterday just haven’t had time to comment yet. Maybe when I am done shoveling snow.:)

nrhatch - March 23, 2011

Thanks, Jeanne.

Here’s hoping you finish shoveling snow in short order. Better yet . . . maybe it will melt. 😉

Awesome and beautifully shared! I concur, it is not easy to pick some and leave some so the award belongs to all. Aye!
