The Stats Helper Monkeys at WordPress.com mulled over how this blog did in 2010, and here’s a high level summary of its overall blog health:

The Blog-Health-o-Meter™ reads Wow.

New Year’s Resolution:  Do NOT argue with Monkeys.

Crunchy numbers

Featured imageEach year, about 3 million people visit the Taj Mahal.  This blog was viewed about 52,000 times in 2010.

If it were the Taj Mahal, it would take about 6 days for that many people to see it.

In 2010, there were 1089 new posts.

Does that mean I’m verbose?  Or just prolific?

The busiest day of the year was April 26th with 2,547 views. The most popular post that day was What The World Really Needs.

Where did they come from?

The top referring sites in 2010 were wordpress.com, mail.yahoo.com, mail.live.com, facebook.com, and WordPress Dashboard.

Some visitors came searching, mostly for nrhatch spirit lights the way, how to attract positive energy, is it going to be a cold winter, breezer uptown 8, and nrhatch.

Thanks for swinging by and sharing your thoughts on SLTW in 2010.

It’s been a blast getting to “meet” so many new faces in the blog-o-sphere this year.

And here’s to 2011 . . . and having even more fun with the Flying (Stats Helper) Monkeys on WordPress.com!

Excellent! Keep up the great work, Nancy.

nrhatch - January 2, 2011

Thanks, James!

When I received the Stats Helper Monkey summary, I didn’t know whether to post it or not. Once I saw that you, Cindy, and Maggie had all shared, I decided to join the trend.

Safety in numbers? 😉

2. Joanne - January 2, 2011

Cool… Way to go…! 😀

nrhatch - January 2, 2011

Thanks, Joanne!

Glad we found each other again after we parted ways with WEbook. I’ve enjoyed our exchanges this year.

3. Maggie - January 2, 2011

Congratulations! It can only get better! 🙂

nrhatch - January 2, 2011

Or worse. 😉

I can’t imagine that I’ll post as many posts in 2011 as I did this past year. My goal remains . . . to enjoy the journey as the path unfolds before me. Here’s to lasting happiness in 2011!

4. Richard W Scott - January 2, 2011

Not bad, Nancy. Not bad at all. Congratulations on the growth and very nice numbers.
Unfortunatley, when I made the move to a paid host I lost a lot of my stat info for the year, but that’s OK.
I trust that SLtW will continue to grow in depth and popularity over this new year, and I’m anxious to see how it unfolds.
All the best!

nrhatch - January 2, 2011

Thanks, Rik!

Hope the move to a paid host pays off for you!

It’s always fun to see what’s waiting for us around the next corner.

Here’s to continued uncertainty!

5. Julie - January 2, 2011

Those are some nice numbers! How did you get the ones that didn’t come from your Dashboard/stats? I’m always befuddled by finding accurate numbers for my blog. Thanks for sharing!

nrhatch - January 2, 2011

Thanks, Julie

WP Stat Monkeys gave me the number of comments per post. I added the number of views.

To find out the number of views for an individual post: click Site Stats, Other Posts (under Top Posts), and you’ll get a list of views for the day with Tabs to view top posts for the past 7 days, 30 days, Quarter, Year, and All Time.

Click on Year and all posts are listed in descending order by number of views.

Hope that helps.

Happy Blogging in 2011. So glad that you head injury is healing. 🙂

6. Cindy - January 2, 2011

Well done!

nrhatch - January 2, 2011

Thanks for all your support and encouragement this year. 🙂

7. Cities of the Mind - January 2, 2011

Woooooowwww! You burned past my numbers like I was standing still!

nrhatch - January 2, 2011

And the paradox?

I was “standing still” while you were “burning past” the gates between Canada and the US in that jalopy of yours that doesn’t operate any better in -7 degrees than I do. 😉

8. Sandra Lee - January 2, 2011

Hi Nancy,

It was fun to read this overview of your blog thanks to the Flying Monkeys with your added touches, of course. Congratulations on touching so many lives this year with your uplifting message. I’m just getting to know your blog but my sense is that you are prolific, not verbose! 🙂

I am enjoying exploring your blog and getting to know about you. As it turns out, we have a few things in common in our work history!

Thanks for your wonderful comments on my blog and for all the inspiration you contribute to the world.

nrhatch - January 2, 2011

Thanks, Sandra. I prefer prolific to verbose.

I’m enjoying my initial forays to Always Well Within ~ my favorite new blog subscription.

Here’s to sharing inspiration, love and appreciation. 🙂

Aw, thank you. Same here. You are a kind person with a sparkling wit. I’m glad to be getting to know you.

nrhatch - January 2, 2011

I just realized why I hadn’t been receiving notifications of your blog posts . . . I never subscribed.

So much for keeping my “wits” about me. 😉
