To Give . . . Or NOT To Give December 16, 2010

This morning, I read two interesting posts on Charitable Giving:

* Does Charity Leave You Cold?

* Give A Little

The two articles, especially read in juxtaposition to each other, got me thinking about who benefits when we give money to our favorite causes.

Are we making a difference in the world?
Or just making ourselves feel better about our place in it?

You tell me.

Flawless “Perfection” December 16, 2010

I had an epiphany in the grocery store one day . . .

I looked at the flawless faces staring vacuously back from the magazine covers and realized that I would NOT want to trade places with them.

I know when people like me that they like me for being “me.”

Those flawless faces always have to wonder if they are liked for “who they are” or solely for the way they look.

Quote:  Striving for perfection means we are always a work in progress.
