Refurbishing & Renovating November 10, 2010

As Spirit Light The Way approaches the 1000 post marker, I’ve decided to do a bit of refurbishing and renovating.
I’m revising categories and tags, and rethinking the focus of this cyber café.
While I’m busy brightening up this little corner of the blogosphere, I’m going to leave you with a few thoughts to ponder:
When we re-think and re-view, it means that we thought and viewed at some point in the past and have decided to re-visit those thoughts and views to bring them “up to code.”
Likewise, when we re-decorate, and change the current decor, there is an automatic assumption that we decorated at some point in the past.
But when we refurbish, revise, and renovate, there are no parallel words.
How can we re-furbish if we haven’t furbished first?
How can we re-vise if we haven’t already vised ?
How can we re-novate if we have never novated?
Inquiring minds want to know.

I received a quote this morning from Real Simple which immediately made me smile:
“How beautiful, how buoyant, and glad is morning!”
