Every Journey Begins With A Single Step October 7, 2010

Sometimes the hardest step to make is the first.
We look with longing in the direction of our dreams while remaining rooted where we are.
We hold ourselves back out of fear of the unknown, self-doubt, failure to prioritize, forgetting to focus on what matters, procrastination, guilt, or routine and habit.

The only way to succeed is to START. A sure way to fail is not to even TRY.
No rules. Just write!
Babe Ruth, in addition to being the Home Run champ for much of the 20th century was also the strike-out champion. (And may still be – I didn’t check.) The moral is: you won’t hit any home runs unless you swing at the ball. Playing it “safe” might occasionally get you a base-on-balls, but usually it gets you a seat in the dugout; playing it safe doesn’t win the game, either!

Sometimes that first step can seem more like a leap over the Grand Canyon. I am a horrible procrastinator but always working on it.

That first step is 90% there.
Just start and the way will appear.
