In every life, tears must fall.
But just as cloudbursts become clear skies, we can transform TEARS into a SMILE.
Laughter is the sun that drives winter from the human face. ~ Victor Hugo
We do not laugh because we are happy. We are happy because we laugh. ~ William James
While your waiting for your tears to dry, why not try a word game?
In FUN with WORDS, I tossed out a few doublet challenges for you from the Guinness Book of Words.
Here’s a solution to #7: from TEARS to SMILE:
TEARS ~ SEARS ~ STARS ~ STARE ~ STALE ~ STILE ~ SMILE

Cool!
I know I shed a few tears in my teen-age years. What a tumultuous time.
Sogyal Rinpoche tells the story about a man who had been depressed for a long time and one day he said to him. I’m sick of this, I’m just going to be happy, and he was. He started to see everything from a ‘happy’ point of view. Of course, this change of attitude transformed his life.
If we remember that all our emotions are fleeting things that will pass, we can even smile at our tears.
Excellent point. It is not what happens to us that determines our happiness.
It is our interpretation of events (the stories we tell ourselves about what happened) that determines whether we smile or frown at the events in our lives.
I went from TEARS to a SMILE in a few short days — with a STARE at the STARS in between 😀
Glad the sun’s back out. : )
