Yesterday, in FUN with WORDS, I tossed out a few doublet challenges for you from the Guinness Book of Words.
Here’s a solution to #9: the transformation (evolution) of Ape to Man:
APE – APT- OPT- OAT – MAT-MAN
Did you have this solution? A different one? A shorter one? Please share your solution below.
More evolution on the way!

This is a good idea for a post. I wish I could tell Derrida about it. I’m sure he could make good use of it. Cheers!
Thanks, Loreen.
This is delightful 🙂
I may not be as lucky finding beautifully illustrated solutions for the remaining doublets.
Time will tell . . .
APE..PEA..PAN..MAN..MONKEY SEE MONKEY DO..
Interesting take, Marlene.
As originally envisioned, the chain (or ladder) only changes one letter at a time (without changing the order of letters):
HEAD ~ HEAL ~ TEAL ~ TELL ~ TALL ~ TAIL
But, why play Monkey See Monkey Do when you can create your own rules for living life!
Welcome!
I’m SO out of practice on the left side of my brain… but I sure do appreciate these tranformative treasures… Thanks for sharing!
Stepping out of our normal way of viewing the world, helps create new pathways in our brains.
Take your time, I’m only going to post one solution a day.
