Your Wheelbarrow Of Woe July 12, 2010

How often do you find yourself counting your woes?

Focusing on all that is WRONG with your life?

When you gather into your thoughts all the things you don’t like about your life ~ especially the stale outdated stuff from the past ~ that collection of sad, stale memories becomes your Wheelbarrow of Woe.

Something happens that upsets you.

That triggers you to think about other upsetting and unsettling things.

Eventually, you have loaded up your wheelbarrow, and weighed yourself down in the process.

Instead of looking around for something inspirational, you cart your cares and concerns around with you for the rest of the day, week, month, or year, exhausting yourself in the process.

You begin to wear your “woe is me” attitude like it’s a badge of honor.

You forget that you can choose to take a break from your Wheelbarrow of Woe anytime . . . like right now, for instance.

Step away from the wheelbarrow.

Give yourself a break.

Find something to smile about.

Enjoy what today has to offer.

If you miss your Wheelbarrow of Woe, you can always return to it later, after you’ve taken time to enjoy this magical moment.

Quotes:  Be aware, always and at every moment, that the miracle is in the here and now. ~ Marcel Proust

Oh, for a life of sensations, rather than of thoughts! ~ John Keats
