A Full House & A Pair of Twins June 20, 2010

For the past few days, we’ve had a full house.
An impromptu visit from a high school friend (someone I hadn’t seen in 35 years) overlapped with a planned visit from my sister and her family.
The result? Less keyboard time in cyber-space than I’ve had in months.
It’s good to be back . . .
During the overlap, we had 5 adults, 4 teenagers, a golden labrador puppy, and our male tabby, Tigger, living, breathing, eating, sleeping, laughing, and conversing under one roof . . . except when we were outside building castles in the sand, playing Marco Polo in the pool, and eating watermelon on the deck.
Even after Cindy and her 13-year-old twins (Bridget and Hugh) departed for Cape Canaveral to set sail on a Carnival Cruise, our days and nights swirled past in a kaleidoscopic whirl of . . . sand, salt, sun, surf, sea spray . . . sheets, pillows, towels, comforters, beach chairs, bathing suits . . . Boggle, Phase Ten, Rumicube . . . root beer floats, brownies, ice cream, cookies . . . barking, hissing, laughing, bike rides, beach walks . . . meals, movies, movies, meals . . .
With a matinée performance of Menopause The Musical (and more laughter) tossed into the mix for good measure.
Have I mentioned it’s good to be back?

Gosh. How can you stand it?
))
We survived all the fun in the sun, but I bet we sleep like rocks tonight!
Happy Father’s Day!
Sounds wonderful to me…I’m never quite so happy as when I have our house full, nor as relieved when it’s empty again! The paradox of being a host/hostess!
You’ve summed it up perfectly, Paula.
We had tons of fun . . . but it’s nice having the villa to ourselves again.
Paula has it on the head. Sounds like you had a blast, but it’s always good when peace returns.
ps: brinjal is eggplant / aubergine.
Yesterday, the house seemed so quiet in the aftermath ~ a bit disorienting.
Today, there’s just a lovely silence filling the space. : )
It was fun while it lasted.
And thanks for the heads up about brinjal ~ now that I see your answer, I fear that I voiced the question once before without retaining your response. : )
