Moment to moment
we travel corridors filled
with shadow and light
No time for regret
we stumble forward and fall
into journey’s end
Whispers in the mist
we pass through the last doorway
leaving all behind

Aah . . . that’s better!

This picture goes perfectly with the words, Nancy.
Thanks, Andra. Sidey chose the photo as the prompt for this weekend’s theme if you want to give it a go.
Good words….I’m hoping to walk more into the moment and to stumble less! hehe
At times, we have no choice but to grope in the dark . . . no matter how many times we reach for the light switch, uncertainty lingers in the shadows.
True…I sometimes feel like I want to strangle my doubting mind!
Here’s to regaining clarity . . . with eyes, mind, and heart wide open!
Beautiful words.
Thanks, Colline. Everyone is welcome to play along with Sidey’s Weekend Theme . . . just click the link if you’re interested.
What a beautiful photograph! And absolutely lovely haiku!
Thanks, Suzi. That photo is stellar! Great choice for a prompt.
That was wonderful. Great words.
Thanks Nancy
Wonderful prompt. Thanks, Sidey.
Very nice words, Nancy!
I’m still pondering the theme myself at the moment… it’s a great photo to work with though!
I look forward to seeing what transpires from your pondering.
Such beautiful haikus that make a wonderful poem – I love the image of going through the last door. Who knows what lies beyond?
Yes! Mystery awaits!
What an intriguing post, Nancy! You have captured my imagination entirely!
Thanks, Kate. I loved the prompt . . . what a great photo to stir our imagination.
I think you should add a fourth stanza about what happens when you eat the lead paint flaking from the ceiling!
Oh, what a world!
You expressed perfectly the emotions the photo evoked! Great job, Nancy…you do have a beautiful way with words.:)
Thank you, Vivian. This photo captivated me at first sight. A great reminder that life is filled with shadow and light.
The photo is intriguing and your words even more. Very thought provoking.
Thank you, Patricia. If you’d like to play along, Sidey invites one and all to join in her weekend theme.
Great poem! Perfect for that photo
Thanks, Janna. You’re opening and closing a few doors yourself this month. Congrats on the pending move.
Very well done – like the corridor, simplicity with depth.
Thanks, Col. I see you’ve just posted your take. I’ll be by . . . by and by (or in due course . . . whichever arrives in short order)
.
Beautiful words Nancy. The last doorway…..
That last doorway is the epitome of mystery . . . hang onto your hats (and boots!).
What a prompt and you’ve done well with it. I didn’t see anything quite as poetic in that photo.
Thanks, Tammy. Pathways and doorways urge us forward, don’t they? . . . “Come see.” . . . “Follow me.”
Curious cats crane their necks to peer past the bend in the road.
Beautifully done, Nancy. Three haiku verses, all linked, or standing alone. So well done! I love the thought that we are ‘whispers in the mist’ – so descriptive of our souls.
Thank you, Denise.
Haiku is a good reminder to me . . . it says, “Be Succinct.”
Beautiful words and photo. Gave me little goosebumps which I am still feeling.
Thanks, Marie. The photo prompted interesting posts this week ~ from the corridors of life to the corridors of our mind to the corridors of institutions.
Interesting words and photo – Is there ever a journey’s end? I’m not sure, are you
No, I’m not. Perhaps when one journey ends . . . a new one begins. An ever flowing stream.
Very possibly…
