My favorite Happy Hours are comprised of four key ingredients:

A warm sunny spot with a view . . .

Riverhouse Reef, Palmetto

Riverhouse Reef, Palmetto

A refreshing adult beverage . . .

IMGP3282b

Fresh from the tap and icy cold

Something delicious to nibble on . . .

What? Potatoes ARE a vegetable, right?

Someone to share the laughter . . .

N&B Venice

Aah . . . that’s better!

Sounds perfect Nancy – and you are lucky to have it all!

nrhatch - January 21, 2013

At the moment, we are avoiding all things fried . . . so those french fries look especially appealing. :D

2. rutheh - January 21, 2013

Cheers! A very happy hour.

nrhatch - January 21, 2013

Bottoms up!

3. sweetdaysundertheoaks - January 21, 2013

Yes. YES, Yes, Awwwwwww! You gonna make me come down there.. :D I remember that place!!!!

nrhatch - January 21, 2013

I thought you might recognize that shot. :D

4. sweetdaysundertheoaks - January 21, 2013

And yeah potatoes are a veggie for sure and ketchup is full of all that beta-carotene!

nrhatch - January 21, 2013

Exactly!

sweetdaysundertheoaks - January 21, 2013

And world’s greatest chocolate chip cookie has, well, all that healty cocoa stuff!

nrhatch - January 21, 2013

Mmm . . . chocolate! :D

5. Don - January 21, 2013

Nothing like a fresh adult beverage – cheers.

nrhatch - January 21, 2013

This particular Happy Hour (just before Christmas) was full of sweet surprises . . . the day had been chilly, but it warmed up as soon as the sun appeared.

Then, as we were leaving the marina to head home, Freedom Boat Club invited us to stay for a gathering of members . . . with music, games, and a FREE Italian dinner! :D

6. vivinfrance - January 21, 2013

I do fancy those chips!

nrhatch - January 21, 2013

Chips is hard to resist. ;)

7. aawwa - January 21, 2013

Life’s simple pleasures!

nrhatch - January 21, 2013

Yes! It doesn’t take much to add to our enjoyment of the journey through life. We just need to press *pause* from time to time to soak it all in. :D

8. katecrimmins - January 21, 2013

You had me at warm!

nrhatch - January 21, 2013

Warm is good.

9. Sandra Bell Kirchman - January 21, 2013

Nope, it’s not just luck. People who focus on the positive generally get positivity in return. Not only was your “happy hour” nearly perfect, but the positivity you invested in it brought you such a lovely, positive invitation.

nrhatch - January 21, 2013

Thanks, Sandra! We are WHERE we are because of the choices we made ~ having a positive mindset encourages us not to overlook the simple pleasures found when we press *pause* long enough to enjoy them. :D

10. granny1947 - January 21, 2013

Well, I have the warm weather.
Not the view.
The adult beverage.
I am almost there!!!

nrhatch - January 21, 2013

Your weather sounds furnace-like, Granny. Extreme temps like that call for a nice refreshing beverage. Aah . . .

11. Grannymar - January 21, 2013

A little of what you fancy does you good! Please may I have one chip? May your life consist of many Happy Hours.

nrhatch - January 21, 2013

Yes, of course! Help yourself. :D

12. seeker - January 21, 2013

having your cake and eat it too, eh? Happy dance….

nrhatch - January 21, 2013

There is nothing like a Happy Dance to make us grin. :D

13. Cecelia Futch - January 21, 2013

Cheers! Ah!! You look so warm and happy. It’s kind of frigid up here on the big lake. I’m jealous.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I miss visiting folks (and receiving visitors!), so I was very happy to see you paid a visit. And yes, school is chugging along nicely.

Still enjoy your blog when I get a chance to drop in. Take care and have a fantastic week. :-D

nrhatch - January 21, 2013

Thanks, Cecelia. I love that reflections shot of yours. Watching the winter weather around the country confirms the rightness of our decision to move to Florida. It’s 61 degrees right now . . . and that’s cold enough for me.

Good luck with your studies!

14. diannegray - January 21, 2013

Chips, beer, nice view, good company – what more could you ask for in life! :D

nrhatch - January 21, 2013

A pool table. Are you going to have a pool table in the RUC once it’s moved onto your property? :D

diannegray - January 22, 2013

I’d love to! I had a misspent childhood and can actually play (and my gramps was a pool champ) ;) A pool table is definitely on the list of ‘have to have’ :D

nrhatch - January 22, 2013

We had a stellar pool table when we lived in NJ . . . but we sold it with the house. Ping Pong is fun too. Your new home is going to be top notch!

15. jannatwrites - January 21, 2013

Those french fries look awesome. I try to stay away from fries because I can eat a whole plate of ‘em without even thinking about it. Even if I am full, I will eat them.

nrhatch - January 22, 2013

No matter how many I’ve eaten, I convince myself that BFF has eaten at least half . . . Guilt-B-Gone. ;)

16. kateshrewsday - January 22, 2013

I like your four ingredients, Nancy. They are similar to mine :-)
