What a lovely picture Nancy – you’ve got the wings wide open and the shadow of the — bird.
One of my favorite fortuitous shots since coming to Florida.
I think Florida and California “share” some of the most beautiful shore birds. I love the photo!
The birdlife around us here is diverse and inspiring.
Okay, I guessed at the bird..then found the majority guessed the same bird (yay!) Great idea for the test run of the poll.
Yay! And I found poll daddy easy to set up and use ~ no glitches in the poll taking apparatus, no hanging chads, and the voting booth is private. We should be all set when it’s time to launch the Vote for the winner of The Writer’s Desk.
It hasn’t got the option for the one I wanted – I was going to call him Montmorency!
Anyway, I’m with the majority it would seem.
Montmorency is a popular moniker for . . . a cherry, a place in Australia, a series of detective novels, a school for Mounties, etc.
Quite honestly, I have never come across it in any of those contexts! Anyway, maybe I should go for Cholmondeley?
I once named a shelter dog we adopted, of completely mixed parentage, Cholmondeley Featherstonehaugh (Chumley Fanshaw) to give him a touch of class.
Another distinguished name . . . shared by a Castle, peers of the realm, and a chimpanzee.

Thanks, Pix. A fortuitous snap. Speaking of snaps . . . we’re having a C~O~L~D snap at the moment. We “froze” riding our bikes back from water aerobics yesterday in wet bathing suits. Brrr . . .
