Heads . . . or Tails? April 8, 2012

When you’re eating a chocolate bunny, which goes first?  Heads . . . or tails?

* * * * *

Just in time for Easter, a few resurrected jokes and chocolate quotes:

A guy wandering the beach found a bottle washed up on the sand.  A genie popped out and gave him three wishes:

(1) “I want a  million dollars.”   Poof!  A million dollars.

(2) “And a Jaguar convertible.”  Poof!  A Jaguar convertible.

(3) “Last wish.  Hmm . . . I know!  Make me irresistible to women.”  Poof!  The genie turned him into a box of chocolates.

Remember . . . dark chocolate is a Good Mood Food: “Chocolate possesses phenylethylamine, an amphetamine-like compound that acts as a natural mood enhancer, and theobromine, which is a mild stimulant.  To reap the benefits of dark chocolate, it should be eaten regularly in small amounts.”  [Top 100 Healing Foods, p. 117]

Put Eat Chocolate on your To Do list . . . and you’ll get at least One Thing done.

Mex gave me a big slab of chocolate for Easter.
Said it was cheaper than a bunny!
Am going to have a piece right now.
Does it matter if it is a Topdeck????

nrhatch - April 8, 2012

I prefer faceless chocolate too! We’re having chocolate for breakfast . . . for medicinal purposes, of course. ;)

2. sufilight - April 8, 2012

Haha, like the bunnies cartoon, have to share with my s/o. :) And, dark chocolate is a delicious way to help one’s well being. Thanks for this reminder!

nrhatch - April 8, 2012

Glad you enjoyed, Marie. BFF and I love this cartoon. Enjoy a nice healthy chunk of dark chocolate soon. :D

3. barb19 - April 8, 2012

Heads first!
Enjoy your slab of chocolate without any guilt!

nrhatch - April 8, 2012

We bought dark chocolate nuggets with almonds in festive foil wrapping. Perfect for a healthy indulgence.

4. bluebee - April 8, 2012

Funny bunnies :-)
I don’t need to put ‘eat chocolate’ on my todo list! It’s in my DNA ;-)

nrhatch - April 8, 2012

Same here, BB! Some things need not be written down.

5. jannatwrites - April 8, 2012

Hmmm….the conversation between the bunnies is almost like that of a married couple :)

I eat the ears first.

nrhatch - April 8, 2012

BFF and I have had this conversation before . . . whenever we get “Numb Butt” from being stuck in the car for long distances.

6. Piglet in Portugal - April 8, 2012

“Put eat Chocolate on your To Do list . . . and you’ll get at least One Thing done”

Done! :)

Happy Easter everyone!

nrhatch - April 8, 2012

Thanks, PiP! Happy Easter.

7. Team Oyeniyi - April 8, 2012

DO NOT MENTION CHOCOLATE!!!

John and I gave up smoking – our last was last Sunday, so this is day seven, being Sunday. I’m avoiding all talk of chocolate!

Carole – you too! Stop it!!

nrhatch - April 8, 2012

Best of luck to you and John. Giving up smoking together should help ~ much better than watching the other light up. Quitting will set a good example for the kids and save money.

Good on ya!

8. wightrabbit - April 8, 2012

Excellent jokes – have already seen the bunny one, but not heard the other. And I will add ‘eat chocolate’ to my to-do’s and feel virtuous every time I tick that box. Happy Easter! :)

nrhatch - April 8, 2012

Have a wonderful time . . . getting things done! :D

9. Carl D'Agostino - April 8, 2012

Naturally I love the cartoon. Must think up some choc bunny sketches for next year.

nrhatch - April 8, 2012

Last year, I linked up to two of your Easter posts, Carl. While reposting this, I clicked the links, but they weren’t there.

10. Crowing Crone Joss - April 8, 2012

chocolate is good for anything that ails you, I always say.

nrhatch - April 8, 2012

Breakfast of champions! :D

11. sweetdaysundertheoaks - April 8, 2012

Good Morning Nancy! Ears first! No chocolate bunnies this year. I bought a Lindt Dark Chocolate bar with Sea Salt~divine. Happy Easter from us to you two!

nrhatch - April 8, 2012

Ooh . . . that sounds divine, Pix! We got dark chocolate too ~ nuggets, not bunnies. :D

12. adeeyoyo - April 8, 2012

Food for thought: Is it only women who adore chocolate?

Head off first I say – then he can’t feel the rest… hahaha!

nrhatch - April 8, 2012

I suspect that “all” women and “most” men love chocolate ~ straight up, and in cakes, cookies, brownies, and tortes.

Vive la chocolat!

13. terry1954 - April 8, 2012

HAPPY EASTER

nrhatch - April 8, 2012

Hope your day is full of sweet treats.

14. Tammy - April 8, 2012

Looking forward to scratching that one off my list. Love that cartoon.

nrhatch - April 8, 2012

It’s still heading my “to do” list for today . . . a bright spot on the horizon. :D

15. Sandra Bell Kirchman - April 8, 2012

I’m a diabetic, but I still eat chocolate. For medicinal purposes of course :P

nrhatch - April 8, 2012

Of course! :D

16. Andra Watkins - April 8, 2012

I love chocolate but have an impossible time eating any portion of a chocolate bunny…….

nrhatch - April 8, 2012

I’m the same, Andra. I prefer my chocolate un-personified and un-animated.

17. Pocket Perspectives - April 8, 2012

That was the easiest check mark I’ve made on my “to do” list in weeks…yummmmmm!

nrhatch - April 8, 2012

It’s a good practice to get into . . . putting one thing on the “to do” list that is YUMMY!

18. Rufus' Food and Spirits Guide - April 8, 2012

I always flip a coin. Heads it’s tails. Tails it’s heads. Or is that the other way around?

nrhatch - April 8, 2012

Perfect plan . . . leave it to chance! Either way, the odds are in your favor. :D

19. CMSmith - April 8, 2012

Absolutely heads. The real question is what do you do with the original Peeps?

nrhatch - April 8, 2012

It’s been more than a few Easters since a Peep peeped up at me . . . but BFF’s cousin adored them. Head first, I think. ;)

20. pix & kardz - April 8, 2012

i usually start with the ears. how cruel is that, though? hmmm…. very sad the whole thing now that i think about it – but what to do. it’s yummy!

hoppy easter :)

nrhatch - April 8, 2012

Thanks, Kris. I hate to decapitate the bunny . . . but if it’s the only way to get at the chocolate I’m willing to look the other way.

“Off with his head!” ;)

21. souldipper - April 8, 2012

Sticking to your guns…nothing with a face. :D You’ve picked up on the Dutch tradition – chocolate for brekkies.

nrhatch - April 8, 2012

I’ve recently learned the French do the same.

Maybe I would be more interested in eating breakfast if it included chocolate. Something to explore, perhaps. ;)

22. BrainRants - April 9, 2012

Mmmm chocolate…

nrhatch - April 9, 2012

One of the best inventions ever!

23. Three Well Beings - April 9, 2012

As silly as this little cartoon is, it is so funny! Some cartoonists are just so clever! I need to be on a chocolate-free diet for a few days….true confessions! :-) Debra

nrhatch - April 9, 2012

Cartoonists are incredibly clever ~ they speak volumes in so few words.

I did not O.D. on chocolate yesterday . . . but today is still young. ;)

24. spilledinkguy - April 9, 2012

HA!
Both those bunnies both look like they’re in much better shape than they’d be if they were within my reach! I don’t know if I even choose an ‘end’… I pretty much just inhale them!
I hope you and BFF had a wonderful Easter, Nancy! :)

nrhatch - April 9, 2012

Thanks, SIG! We had a good day yesterday . . . with a sprinkling of chocolate tossed into the mix.

25. Booksphotographsandartwork - April 9, 2012

so cute!

nrhatch - April 10, 2012

Bunnies rock!

26. Victoria-writes - April 10, 2012

Hehe I do a sick pleasure when I bite the head off of a choocie bunny :) I can’t eat dark chocolate though, I eat the bad stuff!

nrhatch - April 10, 2012

CHOMP! ;)

27. 2e0mca - April 11, 2012

Yes… Dark chocolate is the best. I enjoy (in serious moderation) that sharp bitter taste. The other ‘chocolate’ I enjoy wears make-up most days but she doesn’t need it to look wonderful ;-)

nrhatch - April 11, 2012

What a SWEET way to refer to your Sweetie! :D

2e0mca - April 12, 2012

Thanks Nancy – I’ll put on my embarrassed face.. you know how much she means :-)

nrhatch - April 12, 2012

Isn’t life GRAND with the right person by our side? There’s an old song that sums it up rather nicely:

Oh, we ain’t got a barrel of money
Maybe we’re ragged and funny
But we’ll travel the road
Sharing the load . . . side by side

28. Alannah Murphy - April 12, 2012

Those bunnies! My dad cut that joke cartoon out for me many many moons ago, hadn’t seen it since. Brought nice memories back so thank you :-)

nrhatch - April 12, 2012

BFF and I shared it Easter after Easter. It’s been around for many many moons. Still makes me smile.

Alannah Murphy - April 12, 2012

It’s great, but it’s been literally over 10 years or more since I’d seen it. Loved it :-)

29. eof737 - April 22, 2012

Always the ears… I like corners. :-)
